If you could be more ODD...
December 28th, 2009 by ShaunaHope you all had a wonderful Christmas and got some bargains in your post-Christmas shopping! I bet none of you found what our next guest blogger did when he dug deep to show you the hottest gadgets that were the buzz of 2009!
------
Screen name: Eli
Residence: Los Angeles
Things that interest me: Reading O&E, playing video games, and other things.
What makes me ODD: Mixing black pepper to ketchup to give it a little kick, using ketchup instead of tonkatsu sauce on the korokkes, eating natto, and eating spam. MayBEE these aren't really ODD but for some reason when I tell people I like eating spam they always give me an ODD look.
So with 2009 coming to an end, I thought I would look back and see what type of ODD gadgets I could find on the Internet for this past year. What better place than our Japanese friends to find some ODD gadgets.
Pet Emergency Evacuation Jacket
Longtime pets feel like part of the family, but in times of crisis, they can get skittish and hard to manage, endangering themselves and their owners. You can stop worrying though because the brand-new Pet Evacuation Jacket is here to get you and your pet to safety in fires, earthquakes and other disasters.

Made from the same material used by Japan's world-class firefighters, this flame-retardant suit protects from heat while adding a carrying handle for controlling and transporting frantic pets. It's not just for your furry friend though — pockets on the side of the jacket hold emergency tools and supplies for pet and owner alike. With rugged hardware, professional-grade materials, and rapid velcro closure, it's one less thing to think about in emergency situations.
Shoulderbrella
Adhering to the end of any stock umbrella, the $25 Shoulderbrella is a flexible, pipe-cleaner-like accessory that wraps around your body to hold your umbrella for you while leaving your two hands free for lugging groceries, holding the hands of children or starting bare-knuckle street fights with those other umbrella jerks who are always poking you in the face.

Angels Knee Pillow
According to the manufacturer, House Doctor, urinating into the toilet from a certain height results in hundreds of droplets of spray & splash being ejected from the bowl. Who wants to walk into a bathroom with pee droplets all over the floor? To help minimize the spray & splash, House Doctor created the Angels Knee Pillow.

Being closer to the bowl means less spray & splash being ejected from the bowl. The two-piece pillow costs around $60 while the one-piece pillow costs around $50.

Foot Pee! Pack
Stick your feet in a bag of pee to make your skin feel nice and soft? Actually it's not really pee that goes into the bag but a lotion that resembles pee. But if you prefer to stick your feet in a bag of real pee then go for it...nobody is watching.

I also found some ODD food and drinks from Japan:
To promote the selling of Windows 7, Burger King in Japan sold the 7-patty whopper.

To wash down that burger why not drink the shiso flavor Pepsi or the Azuki (red bean) flavor Pepsi.

Oh...you would rather have a Coke? Well then why not try the green tea flavor Coke instead?

Prefer beer instead of soda? Here, have some blue beer.

Finally, for dessert try some ice cream gyoza with chocolate dipping sauce. The gyoza skin is actually raw cookie dough.

Wish I could be there tomorrow, but I gotta go to another dinner.
Wassup DiO...
December 28th, 2009 at 1:05 am
turd!!! I eat natto with steel cut oatmeal... Does that make me odd???
December 28th, 2009 at 1:09 am
re: angel knee pillows.
you don't need it if you hang close to water level in the first place...
and no KAN I don't have real short legs...
December 28th, 2009 at 1:10 am
Eli: good post!!! Why does it seem all these odd things come from Japan?
December 28th, 2009 at 1:50 am
Interesting post Eli. Won't want to try those flavor of sodas. What flavor is the cookie dough on the ice cream gyoza?
December 28th, 2009 at 2:20 am
December 28th, 2009 at 4:05 am
Weird (ODD) stuff the Japanese think of
WWD!
December 28th, 2009 at 5:03 am
Good Morning Hive!
Great Job Eli!!!
ODD things come from Japan and ODD people come from.... Florida!
But I think Shauna had the same reaction as me on that last one. "What's ODD about chocolate covered gyoza?" ha!
December 28th, 2009 at 5:54 am
Morning all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 28th, 2009 at 5:55 am
Good Morning HIve.
Bwahahahaha sally, that's the same thing I was thinking.
Anyway, great job there Eli. No need that angel pillow. Why pay $50 - $60? Just sit down like Rodney does. Just gotta....um....errrr.......hold em down
When it comes to gadgets, Japan got them beat. Too much time on their hands commuting to and from work I guess.
December 28th, 2009 at 6:12 am
Guuuud morning Hive!
Nice post, Eli. Although I don't drink Coke or Pepsi, I would try that shiso-flavored Pepsi - I'm addicted to shiso. But I wouldn't eat natto even if it had shiso on it!
(Why, Ukuhead (#4), I didn't even think about that. My thoughts are as pure as snow's!
) Steal-cut oats with natto - why not add tororo and up the slime factor even more (ewwwwww).
December 28th, 2009 at 6:22 am
Good morning anklebiters, sally, teejay, Ynaku, KAN and da hive!
Japan has a knack for making ODD stuff.
December 28th, 2009 at 6:23 am
Great job Eli!
December 28th, 2009 at 6:26 am
Egads! The things we get to know about each other here. hahaha
KAN: "up the slime factor" bhahahaha!
December 28th, 2009 at 6:43 am

December 28th, 2009 at 6:45 am
GAH! Monday!
Off to work now. bye...
December 28th, 2009 at 7:45 am
My office is sooo cold, I can't turn down the AC. When I do it shuts down and then the office gets hot. It's freezing. I think It might snow......I have to go outside to warm up right now...
December 28th, 2009 at 7:59 am
Good Morning All!
Eli- great job on the post.
Splish splash, just wipe.
I would try the shiso and green tea sodas. Azuki, maybe not.
Blue beer, maybe once just to say I tried it.
The gyoza, mmmmm, ice cream wrapped in cookie dough...mmmmm.
December 28th, 2009 at 8:58 am
Great job Eli!
Only in Japan do they make all kinds of crazy stuff like that. At least they're "Creative" so to speak. They probably have too much time on their hands though.
December 28th, 2009 at 9:08 am
Who's going to Kanpai tonight?
December 28th, 2009 at 11:03 am
Good morning.
I like that umbrella idea but will it work if it's windy? Come to think of it when I went to japan I don't recall seeing a Buger King.
I can't make it to Kanpai, there's a UH game tonight.
Shauna, I know I sound like a broken record.
Have fun at Kanpai.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:24 am
Morning!
It would BEE really interesting to see all these gadgets in full use on the streets of Japan!!
GOT A TABLE OF 10 RESERVED FOR US TONIGHT UNDER MY NAME! 6 P.M. AT KANPAI!
December 28th, 2009 at 11:27 am
You gotta have too much time on your hands to come up with some of this stuff.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:32 am
Good morning and happy Monday!!
Thanks everyone for your kind comments!!
I'm also on vacation this week!! woo hoo!!
Last year, Pepsi made a cucumber flavored Pepsi.
NaPueo: The cookie dough was a homemade receipe that didn't use eggs to make it safe to eat raw. Instead of eggs they used milk to make it moist.
December 28th, 2009 at 11:38 am
Have fun tonight at Kanpai!!
I'm on vacation so I will be there.
December 28th, 2009 at 12:01 pm
WHAT THE F&CK IS THAT 7 PATTY WHOPPER?!?!?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!?!?!
December 28th, 2009 at 12:19 pm
I dunno, NEO - why would you want to envelop a huge log of Italian sausage with bacon and then smoke it?
(Aside from the fact that it's danged tasty.)
December 28th, 2009 at 12:26 pm
KAN: Haha! Yeah, why would you want to open your mouth wide and bite into SEVEN layers of meat!!
December 28th, 2009 at 12:36 pm
KAN- hey, the bacon explosion was a meat fantastic...
December 28th, 2009 at 12:46 pm
I would buy that 7 layer burger and feed my family or I would take it apart and it will be my meals for the next two or three days.
December 28th, 2009 at 12:59 pm
Great job Eli!
Hmm all kinda ODD stuff.. but I'm all for the ice cream gyoza w/chocolate sauce bayBEE!!
Actually the pet carrier and umbrella could BEE good too! Fire? Throw the doggie in the already set up carrier.. good to go, OUTTA dea! I've had umbrella issues and wished I had another hand so I can see that one working! haha... just ODD looking das all..
December 28th, 2009 at 1:31 pm
HNL2LAS, you shouldn't talk about Ukuhead like that!
(Nahnahnahnahnahnah. Ukuhead is always so mild-mannered looking in all the Triad party pictures. Who knew?)
December 28th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Table for 10!! Hold a seat for me.
December 28th, 2009 at 2:17 pm
Good Afternoon Hive!
Good job, Eli!
Those Japanese sure are some creative peeps!
Hm, I dunno about using those "kneeling pillows" to go pee though. Like Ynaku said, more easy to just sit down and save $50, if you that sloppy.
Might come in handy if you ever need to "pray to the porcelain god," however.
December 28th, 2009 at 2:27 pm
ha!
i really need to get back to japan.
and i think i'm ODD enough already.
i don't need any more help.
December 28th, 2009 at 4:35 pm
or "drive the porcelain bus" - holding that flat white steering wheel, swerving left and right...
December 28th, 2009 at 4:39 pm
@BananaFysh - since you can't make the party tonight, I leave you this: http://bit.ly/8MfOHq. Enjoy.
December 28th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Angels knee pillow?
WWD!
Who needs that when he could simply sit down?
If the fireman can't control his firehose, then he could simply use the redneck solution:

December 28th, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Aloha Hive!
December 28th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
Da hive at Kanpai is probably having a great time! I'm jealous! BUT, I got to hang out with The Dork Knight tonight! YAY!! Thanks TDK I had a great time! We had honey toast! hehe.. uhmm welll not as good as the Shokudo one.. but STILL onoz!
December 28th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
KAN: bahhahaahh! *fist bump* to that!!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:06 am
*yawn*... guud fun tonight but my friends tied me to the chair and kept me out late. Arms are all black 'n blue from being twisted.
Shawna went bowling after Kanpai?
Opso tried to recruit me to go get free senior coffee from McD's. Da noive! LOL
Where was M when I needed him? j/k!
Time to check the inside of my eyelids. Good night Hive.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:09 am
good morning HIVE! seems i'm a little late to the christmas festivities! hope you all had a wonderful christmas BBDs, honeyBEEs, newBEEs and musketeers! these past few weeks have been crazy BEEzy!
eli - nice job on your ODD post! i like the umbrella! those kneeling pad thingies kind of gross me out though... two more things to sanitize in the bathroom! yuck!
HNL2LAS - wow, you got to see TDK live and in person?! you'll probably BEE able to see more BEEs up there that we don't see here!
KAN - re: #34 - FIST BUMP! ha ha ha! but, let me remind you, looks can BEE deceiving!!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:15 am
Kan: mild mannered looking like Clark Kent until I put on my superman tights...
December 29th, 2009 at 12:19 am
Ukuhead: no, not superman tights.......get it right.....it's supaman bbds!!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:56 am

Is the sun shining or is that the street light coming in through your window
December 29th, 2009 at 5:20 am
Good Morning Hive!
Did I not learn from the weekend? I am so bleary eyed this morning. Shauna, you're lucky you're on vacation.
matt: it was good meeting you last night, you're such a nice looking BeeBeeDee. I told Masako "He's so cute, I wish he could be my son-in-law".
opso was trying to BEE young by sitting next to you. bhahaha!
Good try opso!
December 29th, 2009 at 5:42 am
Morning all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gotta take my car in for a break job this morning.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:13 am
Guuuud morning Hive!
Yet ANOTHER mental picture I didn't need to carry with me - ju'like Bananafysh's teet. Aigoo.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:22 am
Good Morning.
*fist bump* uku
December 29th, 2009 at 6:23 am
Good morning anklebiters, sally, teejay, KAN and da hive!
sally, I know what you mean, I'm gonna be dragging today.
matt, good to meet you IRL last night. Last night was really fun as always. Time flew by so fast, it was 11pm before we knew it.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:24 am
Good morning Ynaku!
December 29th, 2009 at 6:34 am
Howzit M. Had fun last night? You not dragging today?
December 29th, 2009 at 6:36 am
The Hive is slow in waking this morning...
Somewhere's around 9:30, 10:00 I remember us saying, "okay, time to get going". I blinked, and it was 11:00.
Draggin' butt and I'm not even out of the house yet.
opso: I'm trying to find out the age for senior coffee at McD's. Maybe I can treat you guys next time. ha!
December 29th, 2009 at 6:39 am
sally we too young for senior coffee though. I think it's 55 but sometime they give you IF YOU LOOK old.
You spring chicken yet. Go clubbing and still can get up to go work. Sheesh after 9 pm I turn into a zombie.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:39 am
Good morning.
Looks like it was a good outing as usual. How's the food at Kanpai? I've only been there Sunday morning for football.
The UH game was ugly for the first 30 minutes but at least they won.
Have a good one.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:39 am
KAN: hahaha! Once the image is burned in the brain there's no erasing it. I see the SuperUku in his SuperTights in his SuperStance.
BUT!... this is after he comes out of the SuperPhonebooth, ripping off his SuperRedMuuMuu.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:46 am
che: You gotta wait for the Queen to wake up for the official Foodie Review. I thought it was good. But then, any food I don't have to cook is good.
Ynaku: so that's how it works?
December 29th, 2009 at 6:48 am
@Ynaku, I'm dragging...
If it's 55 to get coffee for free at McD's I qualify.
December 29th, 2009 at 6:51 am
Have a great day in the Hive everyone, I going work now and try hard to pretend like I'm alert.
December 29th, 2009 at 7:13 am
Here's the review for 2009

December 29th, 2009 at 7:38 am
Sounds like you guys had a great time!!!!!!
Just got back from the shop and I'm dreading the call which will give me an estimate on parts and lablor.
December 29th, 2009 at 7:54 am
Too much of this last night....and now you're all paying for it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19rG2CHvCQY
December 29th, 2009 at 7:54 am
teejay:
What's wrong with your brakes?
December 29th, 2009 at 8:02 am
ankles: I get that pulsating pedal feedback so I think my rotors need to be cut down or changed. I also have an irritating oil leak in the valve gasket and something just started acting up with the steering pump.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:08 am
Good Morning All.
Sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves last night at Kanpai. Sorry I could not make it......again.....
Still working on my New Year cleaning. Almost done. Just the walls and screens to clean.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:25 am
teejay:
I see a new car in 2010
I had warped front rotors on my Z-28 and trying to brake from 50+ was like getting a foot massage
I ended up replacing them with Brembo's.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:28 am
g'morning BEEps!
Eli - good job on the post! aigoo....them japanee peeps are so ODD!
they come up with ODDest kine shtuffs.

matt - was great meeting you last nite! hope you enjoy the rest of your stay.....and to get in some fishing.
sally - no ack! you knew da qualifications for "MLC coffee" at mcd's. you just neva like say. i bet Largo knew too.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:31 am
okay......back to moving office furniture. bah!
December 29th, 2009 at 8:52 am
Sally, I heard good things about the food but for Sunday morning football it's just scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and rice.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:56 am
The spicey garlic chicken, garlic fries and kalbi fried noodles was good..
December 29th, 2009 at 9:00 am
ankles: Maybe I'll find one under my tree like you did at Christmas. I was thinking that I would spend x amount to repair this car and hope it will last for another year. I would love a new car but just hate thinking about the dings and scratches I'll find on it right after I leave the lot. With this car I don't care what happens to it as long as it takes me where I want to go.
A good sign of age is when you start buying cars that are comfortable, practical, fuel efficient and have low rates on insurance. All that trumps what I liked in college which was styling and performance.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:05 am
Sorry I missed the get together last night.
I have a sore throat and I didn't want any of you guys gettting sick from me, so I stayed home. Hopefully I can make it to the next event.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:27 am
It was great meeting matt IRL last night. Thanks for the omiyage, matt. Didn't get to talk story much with you last night so we'll just have to set up another outing when you're in town again.
Kanpai is too loud (says the MLC guy). Must've been worse for those sitting inside.
"Turn it down!" - remember when our parents used to tell us that? Now we're the ones saying it.
At least we didn't see any B-52's while we were sitting outside.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:45 am
or geckos, masako and Shauna was worried...
December 29th, 2009 at 9:51 am
M, Thanks for the food update.
Rodney, sounds like the place was packed. Is it a younger crowd (like people in their 20s)?
.
December 29th, 2009 at 10:08 am
@che - Paula told me "that girl on the end looks like daughter #2".
We also saw a relative - Paula's cousin. Err, make that Paula's cousin's daughter.
Yeah, definitely younger crowd. LOL
December 29th, 2009 at 10:47 am
We were the older crowd...
December 29th, 2009 at 10:55 am
The Sunday morning crowd tends to be older. I don't think too many people in their 20s would show up at Kanpai to watch football at 7:00am on a Sunday morning.
December 29th, 2009 at 10:57 am
Not many people in their 20s are up at 7:00am on a Sunday morning. LOL
December 29th, 2009 at 11:47 am
good morning HIVE! shucks, sounds like i missed yet another fun HIVE meet and greet! hope you enjoy your stay, matt! next time, next time!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:00 pm
Good morning?? What time is it? I'm so confused!
All you sick and busy BEES, you missed out last night!
Rodney: You thought that crowd was young? You should've seen the bowling alley!! It looked like a nightclub! I had a jacket on and was freezing and had these skinny girls wearing short shorts and tube tops and they seemed OK!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
Creative: Hope you are feeling better!
che: What game are you talking about that UH was playing??
Kage: So jealous that you're almost done with your cleaning!
sally: Too bad matt is taken AND he has no brother so no future son-in-law for you!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:04 pm
matt is on the BI today for the rest of his vacation.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:06 pm
Good afternoon Shauna.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
Just got off the phone talking to kate, remember her?
She's in town and wants to say hello to everyone and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
masako and I will be having dinner with her and her husband before she goes back home to Cal.
December 29th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
M: Tell kate we said hello and we miss her!!
Have fun at dinner!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
HNL2LAS: OH YEAH!! I meant to ask, you and The Dork Knight actually met up???? That's so cool! Where did you have your honey toast from? opso and I were thinking of seriously planning a Vegas get together!!
December 29th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
...short shorts and tube tops? Huh?
Oh, you mean hot pants and boob tubes. <--- MLC speak.
December 29th, 2009 at 1:08 pm

December 29th, 2009 at 1:17 pm
M - please tell kate "happy holidays" and, to echo everyone else, we miss her! hope she'll BEE able to join us again one day!
December 29th, 2009 at 1:28 pm
che: In the Northwest!!
anklebiters: More fast-paced music today!! I'm BEEhind in cleaning and need to zoom zoom zoom!!
Rodney: Aren't hot pants pants?? I said shorts!!
December 29th, 2009 at 1:29 pm
Almost at #100....
December 29th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
100?
December 29th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Whoa Shauna funny today. Must bee all that poison she using to clean her place

December 29th, 2009 at 1:34 pm

December 29th, 2009 at 1:36 pm

Shauna, Shauna, Shauna... ** sadly shaking head **
No, hot pants aren't really pants. Maybe you're getting confused with sweat pants - which really are pants. I can understand the mix up: hot... sweat...
Hot pants were the successor to the mini skirt (which really was a skirt).
Here's some hot pants shots from back in the day.
http://digilander.libero.it/guido_1953/pics/hotpants/hotpants-girls.htm
As M stated, hot pants are so short, the

At one time, even stewardesses wore them:

"Remember What It Was Like Before Southwest Airlines? You Didn't Have Hostesses in Hotpants. Remember?"
December 29th, 2009 at 2:08 pm
Rodney: Gee, so many pictures just to make a point!!
But that explains my lack of knowledge...looking at the dates, I wasn't even born yet!!
anklebiters: Cool video on the "Bodies" song!! I didn't know that was the title of that song all this time!! Great tunes!! Got my bookshelf done!! I moved it out by myself like Superwoman!! (Not to BEE confused with SuperUku!!)
December 29th, 2009 at 2:19 pm
The waitresses at Harpo Pizza use to wear them too.
December 29th, 2009 at 3:08 pm
Sally used to wear them.
December 29th, 2009 at 3:10 pm
December 29th, 2009 at 3:14 pm
In the MLC world, the pants don't have to be so short before the cheeks start to hang.
December 29th, 2009 at 3:23 pm
Holy crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
$2700 bucks to fix my car. It's not like I drive a Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Audi or even a Corvette. These fixes better last me at least two years. Now I'll have to work overtime to make up for this loss.

teejay:
If it was a P, B, F, A or C, the cost would have doubled
Was that just for the brake job
December 29th, 2009 at 5:16 pm
@NKHEA - I'm bummed I missed the Kanpai get together too.

ankles: It is (I won't get my car back until tomorrow afternoon) two new front rotors, new calipers and new pads. The rear is new pads (almost used the s word) and resurface the drum. They also have to take caer of a leaky valve cover, tune up, change all the belts, including timing and fix a leaky high pressure line for the steering.
I do think I'll get better gas mileage though.
This thing better drive like a Porsche after I get it back.

teejay:
Now is the time to have mechanic friends or be able to DIY
My oil pressure sensor went out this morning....display says 130 psi
and the needle is pegged at 80. You'd think it would be easy to remove/replace....NOT
You have to remove the plastic surround cover at the base of the windshield - means removing the wipers and debris screen - since the sensor is at the rear of the block, which just happens to be right under the base of the windshield. Or drill a 3" hole through the cover to reach the sensor. At least I don't have to pull the motor like in the Z-28

ankles: I hear you and I probably could do most of the work myself but lack of tools and I'm not really comfortable working on brakes and steering without guidance from a mechanic. I repair things everyday at work and understand the danger of over confidence or naivete. We have guys who watch TNT's Horsepower shows and think they can work on their cars and then I see them bumming rides from co-workers as they try to fix the fix.
What a crappy place to put a simple pressure transducer. It shows you how engineers think vice mechanics and they should ask for design advice before putting a critical component buried down by the firewall and windshield.

So what's the subject gone to now? Shauna, Hot Pants are what next became Daisy Dukes.
RODNEY! Not nice to say things about others when we're BEEzy at work trying to earn a living. Was hard for Japanee girls to wear hot pants cuz our legs were all short and daikon. My BFF in high school was a mutant Japanee... she was 5'5". How can yah? We looked like Mutt & Jeff.
Remember the original Dove Shorts? Had one in almost every color!
December 29th, 2009 at 6:40 pm
@Rodney Lee:
"Not many people in their 20s are up at 7:00am on a Sunday morning."
If they're up, they haven't gone home yet from partying!!!
December 29th, 2009 at 6:51 pm
NaPueo: YAH, you tell 'em! Us older folks are home by 4am Sunday morning. Then drag okole all day long. Then go work on Monday. Then go out again Monday night.
ay sus What is wrong with these old farts? Don't they know how to behave like grown ups?
December 29th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
@NKHEA, what's wrong with your router?
December 29th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
Went SUP today after work. Masako's getting good, she's paddling longer before she comes back and she has never fallen off yet since she started. I need to get my own board now.
NKHEA, let me know if you find a good deal again for a board.
December 29th, 2009 at 8:50 pm
NaPueo: Those were my exact thoughts on those up at 7 on a Sunday morning!
sally: I remember Dove shorts (don't know if it's the same kind that Ocean Lover parades around in!) though not sure if the ones I used were the original ones...
December 29th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Shauna: Dove shorts I remember was in the early to mid 80's, made from a nylon-y type fabric, kinda shiny-esque in all kinds of colors. My fave was royal blue.
The ones that OL uses I picture to BEE more akin to Richard Simon-esque type shorts. Red stripes to go with the the Red MuuMuu.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
sally: the dove shorts that OL wears is a special edition...it's got yellow and black stripes, just like a bee.
December 29th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
sally and David In Oregon: Haha, BEE shorts!!
And anyone hear this Black Eyed Peas song "I'm a Bee"? Too funny!

had lunch at my aunty's house today. turkey soup and rice. dinner at hilo bay cafe. chicken pot pie. dinner was really ono, but the server was a brain donor. highly recommend the restaurant, but, if you get the tall haole guy as your waitron, run, don't walk, to kuhio grill or somewhere else. braddah was missing on more cylinders than jaydee's car.
December 29th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Dove shorts? Back when I was running track we had to wear shorts that looked just like that. Somehow I don't think I looked as good as the girls in UR pics
December 29th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
jack: I don't think any guy looks as good as the girls in UR's pics.
December 30th, 2009 at 2:38 am

December 30th, 2009 at 5:04 am
How many of you remember Twiggy
December 30th, 2009 at 5:18 am

OK, now I'm getting visuals of sally in royal blue dove shorts. OL in BEE shorts. Shauna in second hand shorts and Twiggy in dove shorts that look like regular shorts on her (like how regular shorts look like capri pants on Lance
)
December 30th, 2009 at 6:06 am

December 30th, 2009 at 6:10 am
