Honey bees and me
October 20th, 2009 by ShaunaI'm going to be a honey bee for Halloween! Wanted to last year, but didn't look very hard for an outfit. This year I found it!
You would assume a honey bee costume isn't that popular... but at a Halloween party I went to this past weekend at Aloha Tower, I saw a handful of them. So I buzzed on by to take some photos with what's known as the favorite bees of The Hive. Lots more photos are on Metromix though I didn't make any of them. WWD? 
And here are some other great costumes!

QB: That costume BEEcomes you! I love it.
What cracks me up about costume parties is that a lot of women try to BEE something Sexy, and very few can pull it off. I like to see what the guys wear cuz they are tons more creative.
Last year I was a Spider Web... my Go-To costume that I made years ago.
This year I'm gravitating toward Janis Joplin's Ghost or something to that effect. Didn't have too much time to pull something together yet since I was concentrating on other party effects that I am still recovering from.

visitor: I actually don't dress up very much. But since I had a ticket to the party I had to and I've wanted to do the honey BEE thing for the O&E folks. There were lots of people in uniform that night! Lots of female cops (most wearing short shorts and carrying a weapon!) and inmate uniforms. Saw someone as that Victorino guy and had some guys dressed as athletes...

for up here, you get the opposite effect. people with skimpy costumes trying to go clubbing in 50 degree and foggy weather in SF.

I usually alternate between dressing as a ninja and dressing as a cow for Halloween. I've also gone dressed as the cat in the hat and in kimono. Wearing kimono is pretty uncomfortable if you have to sit in a chair all day (which I do) - I usually last half a day then I have to change clothes.

One year I dressed up like the charcter from the movie The Crow for Halloween. I wore all black, had the white face paint and bought a wig and cut it so I would have the longer hair. I went to the supermarket job all dressed up and I remember this little boy saw me and just started crying. The mom was telling him don't be scared but he wouldn't stop crying. It was pretty funny.

Thank you ALL for the BD wishes......I thought I'd never reach the age of 29, ever 
I took the day off today and took a drive down to Tucson and Florence on the way back. Such a nice day to be out TOPLESS....I guess my hair at the end looked like the today's style....all spiked up and all
....cap blew off somewhere on I-10. NEVER look up while driving TOPLESS...the passing wind caught the bill of the cap and off went the cap. No loss, it was a Dbacks cap. 
The kids took me to dinner at Taiko, a Japanese restaurant nearby. Pictures will be on FB tomorrow. Received a nice wooden picture frame with all of my kids and their SO in it. My daughter picked up a UH golf shirt while she was in Hawaii last week. My GF luuurves nic-nacs and doing arts and crafts....she sent a Corvette XMas tree ornament she made, knowing that I collect them. Sure beats a tin can with a lump of coal in it that I received one year.

My youngest son and daughter will be dressing as "Kate & Jon".....t-shirts with the numeral 8 on the back with the name Jon or Kate. Below it will be the mom or dad with the 8 children figures that you see quite often on the back windows of vans/SUV. They match since son's GF is a blonde. Thank goodness she doesn't have Kate's personality

I went shopping tonight to look for parts for my costume, but I couldn't find what I needed.
I may have to scrub that idea and figure something else out...

I didn't think the stuff I was looking for would BEE hard to find, but I had no luck today.
