It's Friday and time to party!

November 21st, 2008 by Shauna

Happy Friday! Boy has it been a busy week. I’m looking forward to meeting many of you at tonight’s Triad Party, hosted by me, Braddah Lance and Rodney!

Remember, the fun starts at 6 p.m. at Fort Street Bar & Grill. Come out to meet your favorite blog characters! A big mahalo again to NKHEA for hooking us up! We really appreciate it!

Today's topic: a hodgepodge of ODD stories. There was nothing out there to really build a post around so read these and share your ODD observations!

Dr Pepper to deliver on its free-soda promise
Associated Press

LOS ANGELES — Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

Dr Pepper is owned by Dr Pepper Snapple Group, Inc.

On the Web:
www.drpepper.com
www.gunsnroses.com

-----

Not sure how many Dr. Pepper fans we have out there or if you would be eager to get that coupon for ONE free soda.

So what’s your top three favorite soft drinks? I’d say mine is Coke, Cherry Coke and Canada Dry ginger ale...

School denies underwear checks
UPI

WINCHESTER, England — A Winchester school has denied claims that teachers have been checking students' underwear to be sure they comply with the dress code.

Parents of 11- through 16-year-old students at Kings School said their students were told during assemblies that boys are only to wear white or black underpants and girls are to only wear white or light-colored unpadded bras, The Daily Mail reported Thursday.

Some students claimed teachers were performing "spot checks" to ensure students were following the underwear rules.

Stuart Gander, whose daughters Chelsea, 15 and Kirby, 13, attend the school, said his children were told that the school considers colored bras "offensive."

"They were told they had to wear white ones or very light pale bras and they would be spot checked," Gander said. "You wouldn't be able to do that in a work place so why should you be able to do that at school?"

However, a school spokeswoman said female students were merely told what was appropriate dress for the school as a way to prepare them for the workplace.

"There is no rule, we are not checking underwear. We are not checking girls' bra straps and we have certainly not had an assembly with any of the boys telling them what color underwear to wear."

-----

The school is denying it, but how do you "check" underwear? Would that require pulling your pants halfway down?

Can we trust our school teachers to keep this strictly professional?

Police: Carjackers couldn't drive manual
UPI

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in Kansas City, Mo., said attempted carjackers were forced to abort their theft when the vehicle turned out to have a manual transmission.

Investigators said two males, an adult and a juvenile, approached a woman sitting in her car outside of a store at about 11 p.m. Monday and one of the suspects pointed a gun at the woman, The Kansas City (Mo.) Star reported Tuesday.

The suspects ordered the woman to hand over her cell phone and exit the car, police said. However, officers said the suspects exited the car quickly after attempting to drive off because they were unable to work the manual transmission.

Police said two suspects in the crime were arrested shortly after the incident following a street robbery on the University of Missouri-Kansas City campus.

-----

Automatic vs. manual? Which did you learn on? Sadly I don't know how to drive manual. When I play car-racing games, sometimes I take the manual option cause it seems fun to shift the gears.

I think the hard part about driving manual is the clutch. Someone once taught me back in college and it was very difficult. I kept thinking choreography: push, release, shift... Somehow moving to a beat didn't really translate to a smooth ride on the road...

Cell phone in man's chest pocket stops bullet
Associated Press

COVINGTON, La. — A man says his cell phone saved his life. A stray .45-caliber bullet hit R.J. Richard's chest while he was mowing the lawn — hitting so hard he thought it was a stone kicked out by his tractor. He pulled out the phone. It fell apart.

The 68-year-old man was bruised. He said doctors told him two things prevented worse injury, maybe even death: the phone, and the fact that the bullet came in at an angle rather than head-on.

Reports of pocket Bibles saving their owners' lives pop up every so often. Richard says he's sure that God told him to put the phone in his overalls chest pocket rather than a pants pocket as usual. He said that Saturday's incident increased his faith.

He figured the bullet was fired by a hunter in woods near his 5-acre property.

-----

A higher power was definitely watching over this guy. A story like this really shows how some people are truly lucky. If he was in a position just half an inch different, he could very well be dead...

So count your blessings and enjoy the last work day of the week!

Manual trans? Floor accelerator to floor, trans in 1st, release the clutch....and hang on for dear life. :-)

It's simple to drive a standard...just watch out when you're on a hill, stopped....that can be really fun...

  6. Shauna:

OMG! I wonder how many seconds anklebiters beat The Dork Knight by!! So funny! You did have to come across the Pacific to do it. Isn't that a sign? :)

The Dork Knight: We will miss you tonight. :( Are you absolutely positively sure you cannot make it? We wanna know what you look like though anklebiters said he was watching you on his flight over. ;)

  7. HNL2LAS:

I don't like Dr. Pepper, but for a free one, I'm all for it, bhahaah... no wonder when I went on the site tonight after the news, it didn't say anything about a coupon... it starts on SUNDAY! baaaaahhhh..... I don't remember them saying that on the news tonight...be giving it to my mommy who likes it....

    TDK:

Thanks....just lucky....you're not attending the party?

  9. Shauna:

HNL2LAS: Hmm, we actually don't like the same drinks!! So how are you going to do tonight? Are you not going to reveal your screen name or real name? You can identify yourself as a musketeer or honey bee... We'll have name tags for you to write whatever you want...

anklebiters: We need party and karaoke music links today to get us all in the mood! Woo-hoo! Can't BEElieve you also like Vanilla Coke. Interesting!

  10. HNL2LAS:

Underwear check??? sheeeez.......How awful! But funny about the idiot carjackers who can't drive manual! Good Evening Hive!!

  21. BananaFysh:

Hm, that story about the guy getting saved by the cell phone sounds familiar,,, ;)
That's one lucky dude. Someone was watching over him. Either that or someone REALLY hated when he talked on the phone. ;)

Oooh! Dr. Pepper! My favorite! :D I waited a long time for the new Guns N Roses album as well. I wonder how it will BEE...

My #1 is Dr. Pepper, followed by Cherry Coke, then Coke. :D Well, the diet varieties. :( Sometimes I indulge in the sugary stuff though. :D

@HNL2LAS - you know what you should put on your name tag?

    BananaFysh.

  22. Shauna:

anklebiters: Hey, are you testing me? :) The Linkin Park one linked back up to the Elvis one...

  23. Shauna:

bamboohouse808: Hey, it's morning already!! Ready for tonight? Stretch your back out. Remember the guys are doing the limbo! Hah!

BananaFysh: A long time ago I think I tried Diet Dr Pepper and it was pretty good. But after I stopped drinking that I never tried it again. What is it anyway? Someone once told me it was a mix of all the other drinks... BTW, did you notice the Dr doesn't take a period?

  24. BananaFysh:

    Oh yeah, good morning hive!

See you guys @ the Party!

Gonna BEE AFK all weekend! :(

Well, I might BEE able to check in once in a while, time permitting. ;)

  25. anklebiters:

I'm watching Ironman on DVD ... I usually stay up till around 1am MST anyways when at home..

I hope it doesn't rain tonight...

  26. anklebiters:

This should be the correct one for Linkin Park - Numb

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yld37uZEQYc

  27. bamboohouse808:

Shauna - Banana cannot do the limbo. His ring toss contraption going get in the way.

  28. BananaFysh:

@Shauna - Never noticed the lack of the period. Very ODD. ;)

To me, Dr Pepper is kinda similar to Cherry Coke, but has slight "medicine" taste. Not quite sure how to describe it. MayBEE some licorice or something? Not sure what it is, but I like it! :D

I notice that there seems to BEE very strong feelings about Dr Pepper - either you love it, or you hate it. There really doesn't seem to BEE much of a middle ground. I dunno, just what I've noticed.

  29. bamboohouse808:

Did we decide on how we doing the names? Real or screen name? I don't care. Those with privileged access to the "secret place" already know my name and what I look like.

  30. BananaFysh:

    @bamboohouse - you betcha! ;)

Or alternately, you can use my "ring toss contraption" as the limbo pole.

  31. Shauna:

bamboohouse808: That's why you got his back, right? Haha, no pun intended!

    anklebiters: Thanks!

BananaFysh: Yeah, I noticed that also.

Well I better get to bed since I need to wake up early tomorrow. Grunt, grunt. Kidding! It's MANJU day!!! :)

  32. bamboohouse808:

Banana - I'll pass on the "Banana Limbo" game. Wouldn't want "bamboo" rubbing against "banana".

  33. Shauna:

bamboohouse808: No, I don't know your real name... The SecretPlace doesn't say... We'll have blank name tags and each person can decide what they want to write. You can write on yours: Shauna's property! Hahahahaha!

  34. anklebiters:

The Ironman guy has a pole in his plane :!:

  35. anklebiters:

I am going to bed too....it's 4am my body time....

    cYa all at 6pm

  36. bamboohouse808:

Good night My Queen!! "Shauna's Property". I guess I'll be the one dressed in the slave outfit tomorrow. You'll be dressed in all red with the choke "I'm single" rings on.

  37. bamboohouse808:

Looks like everyone is resting up for later on tonight. Good night and good morning..........

  38. honda si boy:

shauna: tsk tsk, what kind of editor are you? is it just an unwritten rule that "me" or "i" go at the end of a list of names and/or people? as in, "tonight’s triad party, hosted by me, braddah lance and rodney!" shouldn't that say, "braddah lance, rodney, and me!"? tsk tsk. well mayBEE it is a formality. i suck at grammer and MLA and APA and all that stuff.

haha, good for those dumb carjackers. i always like watching those cop-type shows on tv that have the hidden camera in those cars set up to stall and die once they get car jacked. oh, and the doors automatically lock. as for driving stick, i'm with anklebiters on his "lesson." clutch in, mash gas pedal down all the way, release clutch! hahaha. oh, and then hold gas down till rpms hit 8000.....release gas, push in clutch, shift to 2nd, mash gas, release clutch, and make the tires *chirp*! :)

ok, gotta get some shut eye....will have a looong day tomorrow. wow, get to meet everyone in the hive...i'll have my name tag on. i was gonna wear my "honda" shirt but the darn logo is on the back of the shirt so that was kinda pointless. hahaha. but then again, as i said on the wwd blog, one look at me, and everyone is gonna know i'm a honda driver. :) plus, once i open my mouth and the big island pidgin comes out, even more so everyone is gonna know :) ahhh, what the heck, i'll probably use my real name anyhow......

  39. honda si boy:

bh808 and shauna: now that would BEE funny if all of us came with name tags that said, "property of shauna" on it. hahaha. but then QB would have to BEE in either her bee outfit (from halloween?) or her high heeled boots and spiked jewelry. 8O

  40. honda si boy:

oops, forgot about the blog topic cause i was so entranced with the copy editor's grammatical mistake! anyways, my soft drinks of choice?
lipton brisk iced tea (w/ lemon), diet pepsi, pepsi, diet coke, fruit punch, coke. not a dr pepper drinker (not a fan of "cinnamon" tasting drinks). i like plantation iced tea too, but that's not really a soft drink huh?

  41. BananaFysh:

Ho boy, I'd better get to bed. Got a plane to catch tomorrow ;)

I hope BEEs eat manju. ;)

    hehehe

    See you peeps soon!

    Yee haw!
    :D

  42. The Dork Knight:

Mountain Dew, ginger ale, root beer, Coke

Does anybody like those energy drinks like Red Bull or Rockstar? Some of them taste kinda like cough syrup to me. Bleh.

QB: Yes, I'm absolutely positively sure. :-(

  43. BananaFysh:

I was all set to go to bed, then my friend sent me this link, and I had to share with the Hive.

    http://www.nypost.com/seven/11182008/entertainment/funny_honey_outlook_sunny_139218.htm

It's about the Bee Girl from the Blind Melon video for "No Rain."

    Too ODD!!
    :D

  44. Shizah:

Soft drinks, wat dat? I guess would be Bud light, Coors light , den Miller lite. hee hee!!!

  45. Shizah:

Good ting I no can go tomorrow, I only drink at parties. (socially, that is.) Yeah right!!! Have fun everyone!!!

  46. Ocean Lover:

Morning BEEple! Wow! So early and got more posts now then yesterday lunchtime!

Dr. Pepper......you either LOVE IT or HATE IT.

Guess which one applies to me? ;-)

Darn you Banana.............we're like clones! (BEEg hint)

Time to get up and rattle this world! Wife and I took the day off.........

    OL.........anudder FUN DAY ahead

  47. bamboohouse808:

Good Morning.....too early to be at work............

  48. M:

GOOD MORNING QB and the HIVES!!!!!!
Masako just called me from work and told me that someone at her work had an old Roosevelt yearbook so she flipped though the book and guess who she found? Our QueenBee!!!

  50. Kelli:

See you at the party! (Provided it's not raining like crazy because I get kinda freaked out when no can see good).

  51. Ynaku:

    GOOD MORNING!!!! IT's PARTY TIME

Now where's that SuperFairy? I waiting at Hilo Harbor? Dang it. I no see da boat.

Driving? Me learn on standard. 3/4 ton truck, no power steering, parallel park that big tank no problem on busy Hilo street. Took driving test in Dad's automatic car though. Never like take the examiners in Uncle's pig slop truck.

Had a 70 Dodge Challenger 340 4-bbl 4 on da floor posi. Used to crank that car. Had sync trans. Could shift without clutch, just let go the gas and bang the shifter. Didn't do that much since never like break my trans. My 1984 Ford F-150 was standard too. New truck had to Bee auto cause my wife grumble with me she cannot drive my truck. It was auto or No truck. So I gave in. Miss my standard. :(

Whoo hoo gang, Have a great time at the party.

anklebiter, welcome home bruddah. I know the Chysler 300 not even in the same class as your Vette, but gotta think about mom and dad.

    HAVE FUN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  52. Ynaku:

    Oh drinks

Coke (forthebuzzintheafternoonwhenIslowingdown), Pepsi, Fruit Punch, Green Tea, Juice, Heiny Lite, anything in green or brown bottles. (choices innot particular order)

Underwear: What That? nah joke.

  53. Ynaku:

Oh and if you folks see BF, take picture of his MURSE!!

  54. Ynaku:

Sorry I trying to make up for lost time BEEzy BEEzy.

  55. myama99:

Have fun tonight BEEhave and BEE safe.

myama99 (running around trying to fix computers and needing coffee)

  56. Scott:

I used to like Mr. Pibb. Did they have that in Hawaii?
For me, it's also (Jack &) coke. That always
got the night started with a bang.

  57. BananaFysh:

Good Morning Hive!! Waiting for my flight @ the airport. Got my murse and everything. ;) No mo daggers though. hehe Looking forward to tonight!

  58. Shauna:

Good Morning all you party BEES!!! :)

M: Why would someone have an OLD RHS yearbook?? That's just too ODD! There's no need to bring it to the party... Plus if you guys do we'll all know who you are!! Heh! See you tonight my Coke buddy! :)

honda si boy: Your name tag needs to say Shauna's chauffeur. I think I'll BEE able to spot you easily!

NKHEA: We will see you early! Thanks again and looking forward to meeting you!

Ynaku: Dang Superferry! :) Don't worry we will get a picture of the murse. Hope it matches his outfit! Haha!

Kelli: Yup, we'll see you later! Leslie will also stop by for a bit! :)

Ocean Lover: Oh no! You and Banana clones! The world can't take another of him! ;)

Shizah: Too bad you can't make it. I think you'll fit right in! We'll miss you!

The Dork Knight: Hey, you're the only who also mentioned ginger ale! I also like root beer a lot. Barq's or Mug? Not a Mountain Dew fan though... OK, mayBEE next time we'll get to meet you IRL! :)

bamboohouse808: With that name tag and outfit, I'll definitely BEE able to spot you. Red outfit! I almost forgot about that. Thanks! ;)

BananaFysh: Aw, there were BEE girls BEEfore us? Hope someone remembers us 15 years from now! Hope you had a safe flight and see you soon! :)

  59. BC:

Finally Friday!! Seems like this week dragged on forever.
Can't make it tonight. Be sure to post pics next week.

I'm not really a soda fan, though I used to drink cream soda whenever I could get it. Nowadays I just drink unsweetened iced tea or water and of course the coffee.

I learned to drive automatic but I learned to drive manual by swiping the keys to my brother's Corolla when he was busy.

    Have fun tonight Hivers!

  60. opso:

    g'morning hivers!! it's pahtay day!! :D

heck da free soda......i'm just stoked that GNR's new cd is finally here!! w00t!!
and i don't care for dr. pepper either......ptui!! blech! blech! :x

i like coke.....DA SOFT DRINK COKE!!
but not the same as beefore after they messed with the recipe. bottle coke was the best. i miss it.......it bring tears to my eyes....literally. ;) and the throat burn....ahhhh....

  61. snow:

Good Morning BBDs, honeyBEEs, newBEEs and musketeers!! Yay! It's Friday and party day! Hey, I hope I'm not the only musketeer at the party! HNL2LAS and munch, you gotta keep me company... and help keep the limbo pole and BananaFysh's ring toss contraption away from me!! And, I don't want you folks to miss out on any HIVE fun!! We'll be BUZZing (well, not like THAT... well, maybe like THAT! ha ha!), I'm sure!!

M - You're volunteering to do WHAT to the musketeers? I think you definiltely need Masako's approval for that one... oh, and wait... MINE, too! Let's see, M... NO PASS!

NKHEA - Thanks for hooking us up tonight!! I guess you and opso need to share the food and beverage coordinator duties for the HIVE!

Ynaku - Shucks, the Super Ferry not there YET??? Aisus!! Aww... party won't be the same without you!! :(

BananaFysh - Hope you have/had a safe flight!! I loved that Blind Melon video - thought that Bee Girl was precious! She seems to have grown up nicely for sure!!

Hmm... about soft drinks... it would be Pepsi, if I had a soft drink at all. Don't normally drink anything else, unless I'm dying of thirst! Maybe a Sprite... but definitely not a Dr Pepper!! BananaFysh and OL are both Dr Pepper lovers???!!! That might explain a few things as well (just like BananaFysh getting whacked in the head with a ball!)!! Ha ha... ;)

I no can drive manual. Too stupid that those carjackers didn't know how to either! Guess I can't be a carjacker!

  62. BC:

opso: Did you know that the original coke actually had "coke" in it? That was "The Real Thing" they advertised. I'm not sure when they took it out. Their script logo was supposed to resemble a whiff of white stuff going up a nostril when turned sideways.

M: Bring a camera so you can document what you check. ;-)

  63. munch:

    hmm...

carjackers: umm...STUPID! good for them
    Dr Pepper: eew. yuck.
checking underwear at school: eew. yuck. CREEP!

i'm like you QB never learned how to drive standard/manual/whatever you call it...the one & only time i tried was nothing short of disaster. we literally went from one end of the parking lot to the other, jerking like the car was having a seizure & i'm pretty sure we got minor whiplash :???: luckily we stopped (read: died out) before i could hop a curb or anything but i never tried again. granted, that was when i wasn't even old enough to take my permit test yet so maybe times have changed and i can learn now? anyone willing to teach me like maybe Uncle Ynaku? haha

as for drinks of choice tho, besides water...i'd have to say Fruit Punch (Fanta), lemonade or strawberry lemonade YUMMY! then i guess...ooh IBC root beer is goooood--because it's not too fizzy. i'm not a fan of carbonation.

judging by the kind of underwear i SEE (that's SEE, not purchase *adjusts the halo i borrowed from snow *) in the stores, those people at that school would go nuts inspecting underwear here! i imagine it would go something like this....

School Administrator (SA): ok girls, line up it's time to check your undergarments!
girl 1: i hope this is ok SA... :(

SA: you know that you are not supposed to wear anything half interesting! only white or light colors! and those hearts are a no-no! but since it's a light color i'll let you off with a warning today.

girl 2: can i have a warning too?

SA: Holy smokes you're wearing THAT and you want a warning?! that's too many colors! it looks like you grabbed a rainbow and wrapped it around your chest! 3 days detention!

SA to girl 3: young lady i am very disappointed. yours is RED and FRILLY! no lace allowed!!! how many times must i tell you that you are only to wear styles that Sister Mary Agnes would wear?! she wouldn't be caught dead in this!!!

girl 3: but SA, Sister Mary Agnes is 80 years old!!!!!

    SA: 1 week detention

    girl 4: *smiling, smirking*

SA: ok what are you so happy about? let's see it.... *gasp!* is...that...real leather? *gulp* and...what is thaaaa....
    umm...is that a thon...whoa. hmm...

    girls 1, 2 & 3: detention!!!

SA to girl 4: please see me in my office.

    girls 1, 2 & 3:

  64. bamboohouse808:

Am I the only one who caught that Ynaku was waiting for the "SuperFairy"?

    Now where’s that SuperFairy?

I wonder what their super power is? Actually, I don't want to know.

  65. M:

    What if they go commando?

  66. bamboohouse808:

    Sodas: 1. A&W rootbeer 2. Pepsi 3. Coke

Underwear check: Who cares. You not suppsed to see the underwear anyway. Let them wear the kalakolo rainbow ones with Hannah Montana on top if they like.

Driving Stick: I learned how to drive stick on my dad's old truck with no power steering. All my cars have been automatic though. So my wife can drive um and easier to drive in rush hour traffic.

Cell Phone stops bullet: That's why I keep my phone in my pants pocket. Just in case a stray bullet goes down there. Come to think of it, I need a bigger phone.

  67. BC:

Aren't all guys able to handle a stick?? Oh, wait....wrong stick. 8-O

  68. snow:

munch - i was wondering when you were getting to the thong of the story!! lol... by the way, you can hold on to the halo for a while. apparently, some BEEs around here think my horns (which i don't have, by the way!) get in the way! anyway, the halo gets a little poky sometimes!

  69. Ynaku:

    SuperFairy,

BWAHAHAHAHAHA  Come on! How come only BH808 caught that?

I take whatever will get me there. Even is the Failry is one Shim or Ah-Muh-La, I grab on if they get me to da pahty tonight. :D :)

anyways.....we ALL going have 1 or 10 for you bruddah Ynaku!

  72. Teejay:

Can yo imagine not having beavers for 400 years?!

For the first time in 400 years, the beaver has returned to Great Britain.
Four wild beaver families arrived at London's Heathrow airport Thursday night, the first step in an effort to reintroduce the mammals -- probably hunted to extinction around the reign of King James I, in the 16th or 17th century -- to the British countryside.

The beaver families, which were trapped in Norway after several months of careful observation, will be quarantined for six months before being released in western Scotland.

"This is the latest stage in a truly exciting development for wildlife watchers, not just in Scotland but around the world," said Michael Russell, Britain's minister for environment. "I am sure the beavers are awaiting their release from quarantine... as keenly as I am."

Conservationists and wildlife advocates hope the reintroduction of the beaver will spark a further restoration of natural habitats in the British isles.

"Beavers hold the potential to create new wetland habitats which in turn increases the appeal to other native species," said Simon Jones of the Scottish Beaver Trial, which is overseeing the project. "We are excited to get the trial under way and see what benefits beavers can bring to Scotland."

  73. anklebiters:

Is the parking on the Tower side or Topa side of Ala Moana??

  74. Shizah:

@Teejay: that headline just totally threw me off yo.

  75. NKHEA:

Yeah, done work, now time for party :) :D See all you Musketeer's, BBD's and newBee's tonight :) :D :P

  76. Teejay:

Shizah: I know, when I first saw it I was, "WHAT, no beaver in Great Britain!?"

Everyone have a great time at the party. Teejay can't be there with you guys so drink one for me and get home safely to the hive.

  77. BananaFysh:

Hey Hive!! Almost party time!! :D Looking forward to hoisting a few beeas with you all!!

  78. Coconut Willy:

Coca Cola came to town, Pepsi Cola shot him down, Dr. Pepper fixed him up, now they call him 7up. Remember that one?

Dr. Pepper is da bomb! Expecially when it's FREE! Also Coke Zero, Diet Pepsi Vanilla.

Used to have a 5 speed BMW, Gosh I miss that car. Used to drive a work van with 3 speed column shift.

    Boxers, not briefs.

  79. snow:

anklebiters - parking is on the topa side (mauka) of ala moana blvd. if you're going ewa down ala moana blvd, it will be on your right. parking is right in the building. see you soon!

teejay - what? no KING at our party??? *sniff*

  80. Shauna:

Teejay: So we will BEE missing our king tonight? :( How sad... I guess that makes you king of the cave then...

snow: Totally can't wait to meet you!! Double the tormenting!! :)

BananaFysh: Get ready for some double teasing. Watch your back...and your front! ;)

Ynaku: Ooh, I love those iJoy massage chairs. I have one and don't use it as much as I want to...

The Dork Knight: I love Red Bull. In fact I had to drink one just BEEfore the party so I can stay up! Haha!

munch: Sounds like you're feeling better since you gave us a funny story! So are you in for tonight? :) Please say yes!!!! :)

BC and opso: The original Coke really had coke? Wow! Interesting on the background on the logo design and signature phrase... I also like the Coke from the bottles. They still sell 'em in Vegas at the Coca-Cola store! Actually I also see them in grocery stores now in a four-pack...

Scott: I vaguely remember Mr. Pibb. Is that like Dr Pepper?

Coconut Willy: What kind boxers? ;) Silk or cotton? Haha! What else do they make? Microfiber? Suede? Now why does that Coca-Cola rhyme sound so familiar? Sounds like Humpty-Dumpty.

anklebiters: Hope you got your pole. The one for limbo, that is! :)

bamboohouse808: Bigger phone in the pocket? Whatever for? Unless you're always walking around in a certain state. Haha...

M: Wear gloves during your inspection!

NKHEA: See you in a bit!!

myama99 and BC: We'll miss you tonight. :(

  81. BananaFysh:

@Shauna - Whaaaaa? 3-way action??!!?? Tormenting action, I mean. hee hee hee. Almost party time! :D

  82. NEO:

Also won't be attending tonight... :( please have a lot of fun and come back to the hive/cave/haven with lotsa stories to tell... :) I'll see you all tomorrow, hopefully in time for the GAME!!! GO WARRIORS!!! :D

    NEO

  83. anklebiters:

    I'm here!!!

  84. Teejay:

King will tend the have with the rest of the no shows. You guys posting from there?

  85. Teejay:

Okay gangy. The Wahine are going to start playing soon. All wenches present State of Hawaii certified health certificates at the door prior to entering! No exceptions! Can't have another fiasco like the last time. Once inside the man cave you stand around looking good and be ready to tend to my needs. Just us so no worries. Are we ready on the right? Are we ready on the left? We are ready on the firing line and the line is no longer safe. Lock and load baby!!

  86. Teejay:

Okay wenches, BE QUITE! The wahine are going to play. You gals need to watch them and take something from them as far as being a lady and maybe you can one day play for Dave. I need a beer so one of you get me one and you, over there, yeah you, adjust the tv a little to the left. Thank you. GO Wahine!
Boy I miss date night with the queen.

  87. Teejay:

NEO: What you no like join me in the man cave?

  88. Teejay:

Again the Wahine start off slow. They need to come out to embarrass the team across the net and when they get there then they can clear the bench so everybody can play.

  89. Teejay:

It's 11-10 Hawaii against a pitiful Idaho team that is 3-19 for the year and this is in our house!!! Dave, get you girls in line.

  90. Teejay:

Need to take Aneli out of the game. I want to say something about her that I've had through her career but I limit my comments.

  91. Teejay:

I know what you guys are doing. Your waiting for me to get close to #99 and then you going pounce! No can fool the king.

  92. Teejay:

Hawaii won the first game but they deserved to lose. Sloppy play and the girls think they can just blast through a great Idaho block. Play smart and win.

  93. Teejay:

Hawaii playing better in second set only because Idaho is playing at their normal level with bad ball handling. Wahine, this is your first WAC tournament EVER at home! Make us proud.!

  94. Teejay:

Maybe Dave doing the reverse psychology thing and making his team play bad so New Mexico coach think that Hawaii get problems. He one smart buggah and he doing the CIA, DIA, FBI, and special forces mind games. Or he told his girls to give the fans a good show. Need one more beer!

  95. Teejay:

24-24 in game two. Hawaii is still playing stupid. Sometimes it takes a sniper and not artillery to get the job done.

  96. Teejay:

26-24 Hawaii! But not good. New Mexico is way better so the wahine need to finish of the vandals and regroup.

  97. Teejay:

Rock Band time. Don't buy Tomb Raider: Underworld. Junk! Waste of money. Resident Evil 5 is going to be awesome though. PS3 all the way!!!

Snow: I'll play Billy Idol's "White Wedding" just for you.

  98. Teejay:

Getting close and I know get one lurker out there. Tempting isn't it?

  99. Teejay:

Hawaii's taking over only because we have so much talent (sometimes wasted) and Idaho can't keep up. This usually lulls the wahine to sleep when the next match comes up or later down the road in the regionals.

  100. Teejay:

    #100

  101. Teejay:

HAAA! A preemptive strike against the lurkers and I know all you guys at the party and those who didn't but aren't posting think the king went nuts.. Well you may be right but I still get the man cave and the wahine are up 17-5 in the third game.

  102. Teejay:

All right girls, the match is almost over and then the real fun can start. I have some honey pots that you can take part of and we'll use that in ways the queen never thought of.

  103. Teejay:

Queenie: If you read this later. Is this the longest thread an idiot has talked to him/herself without anybody a response? I think I'm the winner again for some dumba$$ record on the HA blog.

  104. Teejay:

"him/herself without a response", please edit last response.

  105. Teejay:

Hawaii finally won the match with a 25-14 win in game three. They play New Mexico State for the WAC championship and better put on their best game face because if they play like tonight then they are going to be hurting.

  106. Teejay:

Back to Rock Band 2. Did I say not to buy Tomb Raider? This is coming from the biggest Angelina Jolie fan and possible stalker. Angelina Jolie=goddess.

  107. Ocean Lover:

Mahalo Queenie for tonight! Just got home and want to show my appreciation for hosting the party. Very nice to meet the regulars and to see that they're as nice in real life as they are on this blog.

    OL........smiling and content

  108. Scott:

Whoa Teejay, easy bro. Nah, just back from the party. Wife is watching some damn chick flick on Bravo. Had a wonderful time at the party. The regulars on these blogs are just as great as you'd expect them to be.
Ynaku-we thought about you. You were missed, hope you can make it next time.
Peace out my friends, hope you made it home safely.

    Sincerely,
    The Haole

  109. NEO:

Aloha gang, I just got home from my meeting... I missed you all very much! I hope you all had a great time at the Triad Party... hopefully I'll be able to meet you all at the next one... how about Videos and pictures... ;)

    NEO

  110. anklebiters:

    We are still here :!:

  111. Teejay:

Eh, I did my job for the night if not the year in making sure the blog had more than 100 posts for the day and not even getting to meet all the great peeps out there! I need a hug.

  112. Scott:

Who's gonna pick up my tab? I told the waitress my name was Lance.

    (Hugs Teejay)

  113. anklebiters:

Is that why my bill was so low :?: Thanks Lance....I owe you one

I hope ya'll got home safely....
I was following a silver Frontier truck from Bishop ewa bound on Kam Hwy....the driver was kinda weaving back and forth. I hope it wasn't one of us. I got on the airport overpass and a car goes zooming by (wasn't a Honda thank goodness :-) )and not shortly afterwards flashing blue and red lights....guess it just wasn't the driver's night.

  114. honda si boy:

thanks shaunabee for being part of the event planning for the triad party! was super good fun and it was great meeting everyone IRL.

ynaku, teejay, neo, and all the others that couldn't make it...next time right?!?!

anklebiters: made it home safe with no problems! i always drive close to the speed limit...it's the acceleration that makes driving fun!

  115. Teejay:

Scott: It's not that I don't appreciate the hug but I was hoping for a "female" type of hug.
Hope everybody had fun and got home safe. Did everybody look like they were suppose to?

  116. Teejay:

What? The hive still sleeping? Drank too much last night? HAA! The king was up early this morning and I went sleep late last night because of the wenches. How was the party? I need info or 411.

  117. Teejay:

OL: Where are you buddy? I need info and coffee. Are you getting gas at Costco today?

  118. Ocean Lover:

Teejay...........MORNING! Your caramel coffee is ready.........
Missed you at the party. Went to Costco gas yesterday.........$2.25/gallon!

OL........not real :-) because of the weather

  119. Ocean Lover:

    Teejay,

As far as "Did everybody look like they were suppose to?", Banana gave me the initial shock. He REALLY NEEDS A DENTAL PLAN and ISN'T HELPING the profits of Procter and Gamble.

    Hope they show a picture..........YEEECH!

Everyone in real life is SO NICE. Diverse backgrounds yet all having this common "community".

Wonder if Queenie ever found her electrician?

OL..........convincing himself........"we need the rain"..........."we need the rain"

  120. Teejay:

Thanks big guy for the cup of joe. Nice to finally talk to somebody. I knew BF had something wrong with him. Hope his rash was cleared up. Was the queen as queenly as she made herself out to be. NOTE: I have met the queen so no BS.

  121. Ocean Lover:

Queenie is a sweetie. Her first words to me were "You LOOK YOUNG" or something like that. For ONE NIGHT I felt "young again". ;-)

I couldn't stay till the end as my son had Boy Scouts and I had to pick him up at 9........curious WHAT HAPPENED AFTER.

The other ones that attended appear to BEE sleeping still......must've BEEn fun!

OL............caramel coffee is a nice way to start the day

  122. Teejay:

OH wow, queenie. You neva say I looked young. Sucking up to everybody but me huh? You just told me it was nice to meet me. I guess I know where I stand in the hive.

  123. Teejay:

Did everybody use their screen names or their real names?

  124. Ocean Lover:

I do have to make a public apology.......I once called Queenie "fat" BEEcause of a picture which appeared to show flabby upper arms. Not even close! Must BEE my lousy eyesight.

Queenie, you gotta put some "MEAT ON DEM BONES OF YOURS".

Hoping Banana and his wife Joanie (apologizing in advance if that's not her name......I'll blame Mr. Coors if so) have fun on Oahu this weekend despite the weather.

Time to get breakfast ready. I ordered some fried rice last night at the party and will heat it up along with some eggs.

OL.....don't let a lil rain dampen one's spirit

  125. Ocean Lover:

    TeeJay,
Everyone used their screen names but ME. When I walked in I had this sense of "WHAT'D I DO?" as several people were "glancing my way" and whispering.......I figure they said stuff like "There's that IDIOT OL"........at least it felt that way.........its all good.

Heck, I'll wait a little more BEEfore I start breakfast........THE BOY's still sleeping.

    Any more inquiries?

    OL

  126. Teejay:

OL: You right about queenie. She too skinny. She need some junk in the trunk. I would have loved to meet you all but I hope the queen explained my absence. I don't know if I would have gone with my real name or not.
Fried up some hotdogs by cutting them through the middle and made scrambled eggs and of course get rice. My son had to eat everything and I can't believe what that boy can put down. I yearn for the days when I could do that.

  127. Ocean Lover:

    TeeJay,

Queenie said you didn't wanna BEE associated with "riff raff".

    Nah! Joking.

Queenie may have mentioned AFTER I LEFT.

I forgot to congratulate you on your self dialogue last night and your winning post #100. Sounded like you SHOULDA BEEn at the party.

    OL..........almost 9 a.m. and "da boy's" still sleeping

  128. BananaFysh:

Good morning Hive!! Wassup OL! eh, no mek fun of my teef. no can help I no mo tootbrush  I had a blast last night, so thank you to Queenie, Largo, and Braddah Lance for all the planning involved. I would love to party with you folks again. Can't wait for the next party! Hi Aunty Paula! No shame post, eh? ;)

  129. Teejay:

BF: what's up! You don't even address the king as you speak this fine rainy morning? The good thing is all the islands stay drenched. How was it with the actual. I like hear the stories without the gossip (I'll leave that to the 'Honey Haven').

  130. BananaFysh:

Oh yeah, Queenie is just like her online persona. To me at least. So bossy!! In a good way though. hehheh

  131. Ocean Lover:

Morning Banana! You buggah, doing the "mental telepathy" thing with me.........and I UNDERSTOOD! ;-)

Banana is a scary guy. He can BEE quiet yet you know the gears are turning inside his head.

OL.....STILL WAITING for da boy to wake up!

  132. BananaFysh:

I beg your pardon King Teejay! Gomen ne! Was a fun party, you gotta make it point to go to th next one. It's cool to finally put faces to names. I don't know if going BEE more crazy now or what. ;) Everybody is really nice IRL. I guess we all go a little BEEtarded in da Hive however.

  133. BananaFysh:

@OL - I'm all about freaking peeps out. ;) Ha!

  134. Ocean Lover:

Banana.........you TAKE YOUR WIFE OUT TO BREAKFAST............THAT is an order!

OL........imposing some "muscle" so Banana and da wife enjoy their stay

  135. Teejay:

Glad to hear that the men had a good time but I would love to hear from the ladies and the queen herself.
What was the biggest surprise of meeting everyone? This is a question for all.

  136. Ynaku:

BWAAAAAAA  You guys had too much fun last night. If I wasn't still waiting for the SuperFairy down Hilo Harbor, I would have kept TeeJay company. My daughter felt sorry for me so she picked me up and took me dinner with my grand-daughter. That cheered me up.

I cannot wait for pictures now. You guys giving me too many mental images.

I like Shauna just the way she is. Well, if had little more meat on those bones would make it comfortable to hug. But I hug her anyway cause she mone nice wahine. XOXO

Ok I going do yard then.

  137. Teejay:

Ynaku: if you like find the SuperFairy, go down to Mamo street. I know you know where. They get the farmers market over there and at night the shims come out. You can make all the jokes you like about my knowledge but you can't deny the intel.

  138. Shizah:

How was da pole dancing? Who won the ring toss?

  139. Shizah:

Forgot my greetings. Ohayo all!!! Sounded like fun. Gotta go next time. Should've called in sick. Dang!

  140. Teejay:

Queenie: You owe me an lunch or something.

  141. Teejay:

snow: I need a sitrep from you girl on the party.

  142. Teejay:

Oh, PLEASE. The queen is still asleep? I was up fro 0330 and kept on posting to past 2300 hours. Do i get any kudo's or any aprreciation for my wit and natural beauty?
Girl: You better get your skinny butt out of bed and attend to the court!

  143. Teejay:

I know what it is. The gracious queen is reading all the stories that she needs to post. From what I got, the queen is not too bright and they pay her by the hour so I figure we need to wait at least 7 hours.

  144. M:

    GOOD MORNING BEEHIVES!!!!
What a great pah-tay last night!!!!!!
Thank you Shauna, Rodney and Lance for the 1st annual Triad Pah-tay!!!
Thank you NHKEA for getting the Fort Street Bar and Grill and Steven Min and son for the music.
I had choke fun meeting and getting to know all of you IRL. More than what I expected. Most of us stayed pass midnight! I think nobody wanted to leave yea. For those who didn't make it, you got to cum next time...

  145. Teejay:

Ding Ding Heads. If you can't recover from a party in 4 hours then you suck. OL and BF and shown me their mettle.

  146. anklebiters:

Having zip min at zippys for breakfast. Yummy!!!

  147. Teejay:

ankles: you are the most unobtainable guy since you been here. What is the weather like and thanks for the meal update. I love the Zippy's spaghetti with meat sauce and garlic bread along with their surf pac. Glad to see you got more out of your vacation than most would.

  148. Ynaku:

Um Teejay, Yeah I know all about Mamo st. And yes, they still there. But nobody had wings (well da kine that works) to fly me ova.) Guess us gotta party by ourselves yeah? Bee Back Laters. G-baby calling me for lunch.

  149. Teejay:

Ynakku: gald to hear from somebody alive this AFTERNOON. Been to Hilo, Pohakuloa, and KMR hundreds of times. I probably know peeps you know. The one thing about Hilo is the food. I used to go to Dick's and had their steak and eggs. I heard they close a while ago.

  150. Teejay:

M: glad to to see you up. Did you and masako get to the party?

  151. Aunty Paula:

K, BF, I post here. (Even though MLC needs the help.)

So much fun last night! Was supposed to be from 6 to 10pm(closing time) but they let us stay until 11:30. We probably would have stayed even later if they let us.

Teejay - You did such a good job keeping the blog going last night. If you do another play-by-play during the next party, hopefully you can do if FROM the party. :-)
The only surprises meeting everyone IRL were all good ones. No, wait,,, BananaFysh's teeth...WOW! No psychos, although a "Tsaiko" did make an appearance. Leslie from "Island Tails" and Kelli from "Campus Life 101" came, as well as a few other Advertiser staff members.

OL - Shauna must have thought you were old since you're familiar with MLC stuff and because you wake up and sleep so early. Your schedule is like my uncle's, and he's 89 years old! :-P Nah, must be the rain that made you sleep in today. We woke up at 8:45 but it looked like it was 6:30 because it was still pretty dark.

BTW, thanks to everyone for putting up with my singing. I find that age makes me less shame. Okay, age and beer, but sometimes kind of shame to post because the wit is not as sharp as you guys. BananaFysh, thanks for the encouragement.

I'll post more on MLC when Rodney does his Triad party blog. Did I mention MLC needs help? (shameless plug)

  152. Teejay:

Aunty Paula: Thank you. You and your husband have been a goal of mine as far as relationships. Keep the romance going and I hope to be there for the next big shindig.

  153. NKHEA:

    Morning QB aka QPP, Musketeer's, BBD's, and newBee's :)

Think I had 1 to much last night...maBEE 2 to much...eh, think I just had to....

Thanks QB, had lots of fun last night :) now I going back and read all the post.

    Bee back :) :D

(NKHEA not feeling 100% think I might need 1 mo Beea 8O  )

  154. Teejay:

This is why I am the King. It is what, 1330 and the queen hasn't made an appearance? She only thinks of herself. Long live the King and forget about the lowly Queen.

  155. opso:

    wassup hivers! :D

hooooo boy! that was one helluva night. soooo good fun!
meeting everyone IRL was awesome! as well as the entertainment! Steven Min & son did a good job along with Aunty Paula, #131 and NKHEA on the mike.......and the musketeers pole dancing! WOW!!
oh yeah....BF's teef was some shocking entertainment as well. you buggah you. we wouldn't expect anything less from you. good one! ;)

thank you Queenie, BL and Largo for putting on this shindig.
NKHEA for masking the arrangements and the first wave of pupus.
anklebiters and BF for the prizes.
we fo sho gotsa do it again.....and again.....and again. :D

  156. BananaFysh:

Yay Aunty Paula!! I knew you had it in you. ;) Out and about right now. Hanging out @ Kahala mall. It's really busy today. BEEcause it's a covered mall? Kinda dreading going to the UH game tonight. I hope I won't have to swim home... :? Go Warriors! :D

  157. M:

Teejay, masako and I was there from the very beginning till the very end...

  158. anklebiters:

    NKHEA:

Stay away from the bottle of tequila then...pretty potent stuff...I never drink that stuff anymore...I always hallucinate after eating the worm, like being back to the tie-dye shirts, free love and peace...that's why this one didn't have one   ;-)

  159. Shauna:

Good morning!!! Kidding!! Good afternoon!! Boy all that partying wore me out! NOT! The truth is, I thought it was a bit tame in my opinion. The reason? How could we possibly party hard without our King Teejay, Uncle Ynaku, newBEE Shizah, hero The Dork Knight, one unnamed Musketeer, talented musicians NEO and myama99, crazy guys BC, GoodBEEr and Coconut Willy and our mentors hemajang and JindoMaster808? Oops, I shouldn't have said all that cause now you may know who DID show up!!

Next time, if you all make it, I promise a more wild party now that the formalities are out of the way...

Who will BEE home all night? I'll share my party thoughts as the hours wear on! :)

King Teejay: Do I get my crown back for the night? ;)

btw.....since when does WORK get in the way of anything for that involves Hive activities. ;)

  177. anklebiters:

I'll post this to each of the Triad blogs in case it slips by anyone...

I'd like to thank all three of the blog leaders, BL, UR, and QB for putting together the event last night. It was greatly appreciated that it was held during the time I was here. If this continues on to be a regular event, I will certainly schedule my vacation to coincide with it as I would not want to miss it (Ynaku - next time have NKHEA SUP you over, it won't be a boring trip, I promise) . There were comments before hand about what to expect at the party...I had no doubt it would be a success as I've been to several of these types of IRL meetings (car people). The one thing that makes it a success is if you all share the same passion for similar topics in blog-life, the IRL meeting will simply be a continuation of the net version. I don't know if there were any IRL 'surprises'...BF is probably the only one, other than HSiB, that I could pick out of a police lineup with any accuracy. The musketeers were there, minus munch. Everyone there IRL was just an extension of their blog self, funny personalities abound all evening long. I'll bet that we could have a real doozy of a golf tournament - who cares what we scored - We'd have FUN, we could even bring a portable karaoke player strapped to the golf cart. The loser of a hole has to sing.

    Aunty Paula, your score please?
AP: I guess I'll have to sing again (grinning)

I stepped on the scale today and "oh oh", gained like 4 pounds already. I've got a tough choice to make, eat less favorite food or return home looking like the Michelin blimp !!

    anklebiters

  178. Shauna:

HNL2LAS: Since you also one half out-of-towner, you better come also. Plus there will BEE two of us to torment Banana!!! Heehee!! Hahahahaha! Hohohohohoho! Not sure what your shift is but I'd love it if you can BEE there!! :)

Ocean Lover: That is too ODD that you know snow!!! Good thing you guys are not at the same office BEEcause if not the productivity level of your department wouldn't BEE as high with two of you on here all day! Heehee! :) Plus, thanks for the best compliment ever: I do have to make a public apology…….I once called Queenie “fat” BEEcause of a picture which appeared to show flabby upper arms. Not even close! Must BEE my lousy eyesight. You made my day! Now I can indulge in some extra mochi.

What mochi? Pictures coming soon! :)

Sorry, still working my way through all the comments since we are short-staffed tonight! :(

  179. M:

BF, thanks for the manju, that was really good. When I first saw you I didn't know what to say, I was just thinking dis guy needs to go to da dentist really bad....LOL

It seems that everyone has been in Helicopter training...lol
Since Opso was sitting wit us, he got a head start on some KS lessons.

  180. Shauna:

M: No wonder why your table was always so full! I kept looking to see when I could squeeze in so I could learn some things!! But no one left their seats!! Next time I better reserve my seat! LOL!

Aunty Paula: You have such a lovely singing voice!! There was no way I could've attempted to sing in tune after you! Those duets with #131 were so good!!!

anklebiters: MayBEE your next vacation we can put our first golf tourney together! We need to plan that months in advance!! :)

  181. BananaFysh:

@Shauna - re: bee vomit toast. For reals? I'll BEE there! Email me w/ plans! hehe. I thought the teeth would help to ease some tension. I forgot to wear them when I first walked in, so I could freak peeps out from the get go. I missed my opportunity! Well I got some of you at least. Who's reaction was best? Shauna's!!!

  182. snow:

OL - awww... you're not making your old man image any better when you say "i didn’t have my eyeglasses on... " das why hard! anyway, i, too, would never have expected you to be "you!" in even 3,596 years (even after seeing your picture... WWD?! oops, sorry, qb!)!! so, of course, i would help out an O&E buddy anytime!! :D (but see what happened to me after working you-know-where for so long!! ha ha!)

opso - that was pretty funny that M thought we looked alike!! if we were separated at birth, i guess MY mom neva like tell me about you! heh! but, i want to know if i LOOK like the evil twin or not!! i don't think i have that warubozu look in my eyes like... ahem... someone else i know! ha!

HNL2LAS - i think the musketeers gotta have some honey toast, too, huh?! except, maybe we stay sweet enough already... ha ha ha! oh wait, why i laughing??

  183. Teejay:

    Shauna
No crown for you until you recognize my contribution to your blog last night. I worked my butt off for you to get the numbers you have and did you say anything about it. NO! The crown will stay with me until such time as I deem appropriate. I wasn't there having fun with all you guys, I was home in the hive working to make sure you had the posts to get you to the number one spot. I feel so used and need a hug. (Scott don't give me another one).

  184. M:

If any of you dat neva cum last night and had doubts about NHKEA drinking bea and eating poke, believe me, he can pound down the beas and grind da poke all night long.

  185. M:

I found out dat not only Scott and I live fairly close to one another but it's even closer than I thought. I think he can see into my bedroom and see Masako and I doing the Helicopter!!!!...LOL

  186. Ocean Lover:

Snow - So ha come AFTER I posted some pics of me in "da secret place" you STILL didn't tell me "you was you"? When I first saw you last night my first reaction was....."Oh wow......xxxxxx xxxxxx got a TWIN LOST AT BIRTH!"

    And WHY.........the name "Snow"?

Opso bruddah! You shoulda come by and shoot the breeze with Banana, me and Scott.

When I first met Banana I TOLD HIM "Brah........you gotta do something bout your TEETH!" then 1.002 seconds I caught myself and thought "What if dis bruddah got bad GINGIVITIS?" THANK GOD he "changed" later. ;-)

Thank you all for last night even though I couldn't stay longer.

OL.........Queenie, NKHEA, Paula make me feel OLD

  187. Teejay:

OL: No worries braddah. If was there with the posse YOU would feel young. Just ask the queen. Us old guys need to stick together.

  188. Ynaku:

Wow about time you guys all wake up. Teejay was up all night keeping this blog going. Then OL and BF got up early. Even anklebiter on jetlag was up early. WWD!!!! (NO I not shame use dat).,

Me I was up early cause I all upset the SuperFairy neva come and Us guys neva make em top da pahty. So I when go in da yard and bust em up. Cut up all da grass, wack em and BLOW em. Even DID my Neighbor's

OK 2nd Annual Triad Pahty. I supposed to BEE on Oahu Thanksgiving weekend (BIG HINT!!!!!!!) Come in Wednesday and possibly leave Monday or Tuesday. Convention Thursday to Sunday daytime). I know Holiday time but that's my plans.

If I come over for work or something, will let you all know. But that too short notice. I guess just gotta go out with whoever around.

What me more upset is I neva even drink one beea or coke. Only wata and Ice Tea all day. Trying to beat da rain that never come. Only sprinkle. Now I gotta go cook for my son and his pals playing Rock Band on the Wii.

I going kick them out of my family room so I can chill on my new IJOY and drink my beea.

I get pahty tomorrow, you guys like come? Call me. K-den I going bocha cause all dirty.

  189. Ynaku:

Hey Teejay, we have big project up PTA to move all the communication stuff out of T109 to the new comm building. Going bee there for some time.

True, we may know the same PEEple. Hilo small town. One day bruddah, we get together too.

  190. Shauna:

Teejay!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! OK, I'll still grovel for my crown back!! How about a hug, I'll whip you up a meal for you to enjoy while you kick back and watch the football game tonight, then we'll play a few rounds of Rock Band and then some dessert? Then we'll end with another hug? I had a blast reading all your comments. I felt so bad for you since no one was even there for you!!! See, that's why YOU were supposed to BEE with us!! And that's why I said the party wasn't complete caUse our king wasn't there!! So thank you for keeping The Hive buzzing and congratulations on BEEing #100!! I was wondering if someone was going to steal it from you!

  191. Ynaku:

OK wife calling. gotta go. TTFN

  192. snow:

OL - like opso said, even after seeing your picha and knowing you IRL, i didn't even recogmanotice you! you look "different" in your pichas (now i gotta go look again!)!! i would have said if i knew, but i neva... promise! and snow? only so easy for me to remember... translation of part of my middle name (no, i wasn't thinking "snow," as in "pure." lol... )! and you mean, i GET one nudda twin (lost at birth, too, mo' worse!)??? wat are da ODDS???

Ynaku - you stay oahu side, let us know! da rest of us BEEs gotta meet uncle ynaku!!

  193. Teejay:

Okay queenie you can have your crown back. It doesn't suit your prettiness to grovel. But you can hug me some more and I want to post a story one day and be your first! Nice try with missing me at the party. Hard to miss someone you never met before.

Ynaku: one thing about PTA as opposed to KTA in Hilo, is it's beauty at night. I hated doing training up there but at night on guard duty it was breath taking. People would pay money for the star gazing that is afforded up there and yes if you are in town let me know and we can put down a few.

  194. snow:

oops, that sentence came out funny (like usual!)... i didn't mean that opso knew you IRL, too!

  195. NKHEA:

BF; wife just got home, said she thought she saw you but couldn't recognize you with your mouth shut (no can see da teets) 8O

M & opso; I neva drink that much eh....no can remember already

    Thanks everybody I really enjoyed myself :) :D :P

    GO WARRIOR'S!!!!!!!

  196. snow:

oh, hello, gotta go cook dinner already, i stay confusing myself! i meant that last comment for OL!

  197. Shauna:

Anyone watching the game? Looks like we're off to a slow start... :(

    Idaho leads Warriors, 7-0
    Advertiser Staff

Nathan Enderle completed a six-yard touchdown pass to Peter Bjorvik to give Idaho a 7-0 lead over Hawai'i with 7:39 to go in the first quarter of a Western Athletic Conference football game tonight at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors won the coin toss and kicked off to Idaho.

Hawai'i entered the game 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the WAC. Idaho was 2-9 and 1-6.

  198. Teejay:

Thanks queenie. Your good for something because you brought me out of my Rock Band funk. I keep getting the V-ball and F-Ball games mixed up since V-Ball starts at 7:07:30 and F-ball starts at 6:05pm.

  199. Teejay:

WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i Pay $380.00 a year for PPV and they can't get the signal right!!!! I want a refund.

  200. M:

    GO WARRIORS!!!!

  201. M:

    200!! 1st time fo me!!!

  202. Teejay:

Queenie you don't get your crown back!! I have to fix this injustice with the cable company. Jim Donovan is going to hear from me and Jim Leahy even though both have nothing to do with the broadcast. I'm pissed and going out to take names and kick a$$.

  203. Shauna:

Wow, I didn't even realize we hit #200! Congrats, M!

Teejay: You were so close at #199! Wait, so you're not able to catch the game?? Is it the rain??

Wanted to let you know the Warrior tied it at 7-7!
... Greg Alexander ran one yard for a touchdown to lift Hawai'i to a 7-7 tie with Idaho with 3:48 to go in the first quarter of a Western Athletic Conference football game tonight at Aloha Stadium.

  204. Teejay:

I can't catch dodo and going to start fling it at those responsible!!!!!! Thanks queenie for your support but I'm holding on to the crown for now while I go on battle mode.

  205. NEO:

    Shauna-

I'm glad you all had a wonderful time last night. I spent the evening working with my scouts, and trying to dry out my house, at least I didn't have to water the plants today :) UH playing okay, up until that last fumble by Pilares... Come on guys... Did anyone see why that Idaho player got ejected? Hope we're having a great night, Shauna, gotta plan another one of those Triad Parties, so that I can attend... I don't think I'll play my saxophone for you, but maybe I sing... I don't know...

    NEO

  206. Shauna:

Teejay: You keep the crown and use the sharp edges to poke the eyes out of the people responsible! Did you call to find out what's wrong? Dinner is almost ready so let me know when the problem is solved so you can at least enjoy your meal!

    On the menu:
    - spinach salad with all the tasty fixings and oriental dressing
    - hot, fresh french bread (think assaggio's!)
    - chicken marsala pasta

    Dessert will BEE a surprise!

Ynaku: OK, we'll save the date for the 2nd annual Triad Party! Remind us every month cause we're all old!! ;)

  207. M:

    Interception and Touch down!!!

  208. Shauna:

NEO: Hi there!! We totally missed you! We needed more young folks out! Ssh!! Kidding! I'm thinking a karaoke night is in order since many folks didn't sing! Those shy peeps! ;)

Wow, UH is scoring fast now!

Teejay: Shall we not post updates so you can watch the game later?

Warriors lead Idaho, 21-7, in second quarter
    Advertiser Staff

Kealoha Pilares ran for a two-yard touchdown to give Hawai'i a 21-7, lead with 14:06 remaining in the second quarter of a Western Athletic Conference football game tonight at Aloha Stadium.

The Warriors won the coin toss and kicked off to Idaho.

On the opening drive, Nathan Enderle completed a six-yard touchdown pass to Peter Bjorvik to give Idaho a 7-0 lead with 7:39 to go in the first quarter.

Alexander ran one yard for a touchdown to lift Hawai'i to a 7-7 tie with 3:48 to go in the first quarter.

On the first play following Idaho's kickoff, Greg Alexander completed an 82-yard touchdown pass to Malcolm Lane to give Hawai'i a 14-7 lead with 1:51 to go in the first quarter.

Hawai'i defense came up with the first turnover when Desmond Thomas hit Deonte' Jackson, who fumbled. Ryan Mouton recovered and ran the ball 10 yards to the Idaho 34. But the Warriors gave the ball back on a fumble by Kealoha Pilares at the Idaho 10.

On Idaho's next possession, Jameel Dowling intercepted an Enderle pass at the Idaho 31 and returned it to the UI 2 with 14:09 remaining in the second quarter.

Hawai'i entered the game 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the WAC. Idaho was 2-9 and 1-6.

  209. Shauna:

opso: Where are you watching the game at?

snow: How's dinner coming along? Oh yeah, I'm also worried about having some of that honey toast. What happens if there is an excess of sweetness in us? Can too much innocence be a bad thing? Will our halos slip off our head?

BananaFysh: We hope you're not getting wet at the game! Oh shoots! You can see right through me! Kidding! What kind of stadium food did you get? Are you scaring the people near you with your in-need-of-fixing teeth? ;)

M: How come your PPV is working and Teejay is having problems?

  210. M:

Shauna, I'm listening to the game on my computer....

  211. M:

Shauna, is dinner ready yet? I'm hungry.

  212. Masako:

Kon Ban wa Hive. Shauna, would like to thank you, Lance and Rodney for putting on a great Triad party. Thank you Nkhea for providing pupu's, was nice to see you and Ikhea and party with you guys since we missed the other one. Thanks Bananafysh for the manju and Anklebiters for the door prizes. It was fun to meet everyone, everyone was so nice. I was quiet but I think next time i'll be a little more wild!

  213. NEO:

UH playing very well I think, with the exception of a few boneheaded penalties... I had a ham, pastrami and swiss panini, and a bowl of chowder... all homemade...dunno what I'm gonna do for dessert though... Queenie, what you havin' for dessert? I know you guys didn't really miss me... you were all having too much fun! :)

    NEO

  214. Masako:

Nkhea, also want to thank you for your performance of Pen...I mean Venus. Shauna did they play that at RHS during the football games? They used to in my time.

  215. Ocean Lover:

Its rainy outside......cold as da dickens......wife found a brand new DVD that hasn't BEEn opened yet (if its brand new OF COURSE IT HASN'T BEEn opened yet OL) "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"

    Guess we're gonna watch that.

    Enjoy the WET GAME Banana!

    OL........."movie night"

  216. Shauna:

NEO: Read post #159! Of course we missed you! The more the merrier! I told you I love corn chowder, right? Especially on a cold, windy night!! So jealous! :) Dessert is a secret. Gotta let the dinner settle in first!

Masako: Now that's what I want to hear! A bit more wild. That's how the next party will BEE. This one was too tame. You can help me spice it up with the other honey BEEs. See, we needed that pole!! ;)

M: I made some extra food. I'll slide it over if Teejay doesn't get mad at me!! But it won't even compare to Masako's awesome cooking. But I tried! :)

I'm getting hungry also! Where is Teejay?? Ding ding, the dinner bell is ringing!

  217. M:

Masako said at the next pah-tay she's going to be a little more wild! If you wasn't there, you better not miss the next one...

  218. anklebiters:

    BF:
I can see you from my house...just flash those pearly whites towards the mountain. :-)

  219. M:

Shauna, I'll fix that outlet for you after I finish that dinner.

  220. M:

    Warrior touch down!!!!!

  221. Shauna:

    Warriors now up 28-10!

Ocean Lover: Enjoy the movie! I'm not a "harry potter" fan. But I must admit I like that series more than "star wars," "star trek" and "lord of the rings." YAWN!! ;)

  222. NEO:

Shauna, I actually saved one extra bowl... you want it? :D

  223. Ocean Lover:

    Queenie,

Wife's outside in the living room PLAYING THE Wii. I dunno bout "movie night".

    OL......second fiddle to da Wii.

  224. M:

I'm multi-tasking, listening to the game on my computer, blogging and watching Iron Chef America.

  225. NEO:

*GASP* Shauna, you don't like Star Wars?!?!?! :( Star Wars is great! Return of the Jedi is my favorite! Who's with me?!?!

  226. anklebiters:

Had take out from Youngs for dinner...add another pound to me. Soon I'm not going to be able too see my toes!!!!!

  227. M:

Neo, I like Star Wars too! I have all the DVD's.

  228. Shauna:

anklebiters: Whatcha doing in the mountains at this time of night? Kidding!

    M: Woo-hoo! Masako getting wild!

  229. bamboohouse808:

    Yaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnn..........

  230. anklebiters:

    Shauna:

Shokudo? Is that on Kapiolani sorta next to Nordstrom? What time Sunday? I'm on vacation....no curfew for me

Not sure if the game will BEE over by the time I end work so here's our latest story...

Warriors lead Idaho, 49-17, in fourth quarter
    Advertiser Staff

Daniel Libre ran four yards for his second touchdown of the second half to help Hawai'i to a 49-17 lead over Idaho with 12:53 remaining in the fourth quarter of a Western Athletic Conference football game tonight at Aloha Stadium.

Greg Alexander completed his third touchdown pass — a 36-yarder to Malcolm Lane — to give Hawai'i a 35-10 lead with 9:50 remaining in the third quarter.

The Warriors got their third interception of the game when Solomon Elimimian tipped a Nathan Enderle pass and Keao Monteilh intercepted and returned it to the Idaho 31. A personal foul on Idaho put the ball at the Vandals' 16. Two plays later, Daniel Libre ran seven yards for a touchdown to give Hawai'i a 42-10 lead with 5:41 remaining in the third quarter.

Enderle completed a four-yard pass to Eric Greenwood to close Hawai'i's lead to 41-17 with 13:02 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Idaho tried an on-side kick, but UH's Richard Torres picked up the ball and ran it to the 14. Two Idaho penalties on the on-side kick play, put the ball the UI 4. On the first play from scrimmage, Libre ran four yards for his second touchdown of the second half to help Hawai'i to a 49-17 lead with 12:53 remaining.

Alexander passed for two touchdowns and ran for another score to lift Hawai'i to a 28-10 lead at halftime.

Alexander completed 9 of 17 passes for 199 yards in the first half, including TD passes of 82 yards to Lane and 3 yards to Aaron Bain. Michael Washington had three catches for 63 yards in the first half.

UH had 217 yards in total offense to Idaho's 111 in the first half.

Hawai'i's defense settled down after giving up a touchdown on Idaho's first drive, finishing with five sacks, two interceptions and a fumble recovery in the first half.

The Warriors won the coin toss and kicked off to Idaho.

During the opening drive, Nathan Enderle completed a six-yard touchdown pass to Peter Bjorvik to give Idaho a 7-0 lead with 7:39 to go in the first quarter.

Alexander ran one yard for a touchdown to lift Hawai'i to a 7-7 tie with 3:48 to go in the first quarter.

On the first play following Idaho's kickoff, Alexander completed an 82-yard touchdown pass to Lane to give Hawai'i a 14-7 lead with 1:51 to go in the first quarter.

Mouton later suffered a high-ankle sprain and sat out the second half.

On Idaho's next possession, Jameel Dowling intercepted an Enderle pass at the Idaho 31 and returned it to the UI 2 with 14:09 remaining in the second quarter. On the first play from scrimmage, Pilares ran for the touchdown to give the Warriors a 21-7 lead with 14:06 remaining in the second quarter.

Idaho's Tino Amancio kicked a 52-yard field goal to close Hawai'i's lead to 21-10 with 8:46 remaining in the second quarter.

An interception of an Enderle pass by UH's Thomas gave the Warriors the ball at the Idaho 29 with 6:11 to go on the second quarter. Six plays later, Alexander completed his second touchdown pass — a three-yarder to Bain — to give Hawai'i a 28-10 lead with 4:23 remaining in the second quarter.

Hawai'i entered the game 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the WAC. Idaho was 2-9 and 1-6.
