Going for a W-I-N and looking good!
September 6th, 2008 by ShaunaGo Warriors! Don the UH shirt and bring your pom-poms if you’re heading to Aloha Stadium tonight for the UH-Weber State game. And be thankful the Hawaii team doesn’t have a uniform that could make us a laughingstock around the nation.
That’s how the Idaho Vandals football team felt with a very noticeable logo patch between the butt crack. Oh yeah, and they lost, big time. You gotta wonder how that slipped past people the first time around...
Vandals take out the ‘I’ in logo straddling butt
Associated Press
BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Vandals football team is dumping the letter "I" from the buttocks region of players' new pants following a season-opening 70-0 loss to the Arizona Wildcats.
Rob Spears, the school's athletic director, says nobody realized just how the logo placed in the center of the players' behinds would look before they tried their pants on.

Look really close...can you see the logo? It's kinda hard for me to see, but it's the best photo I could find. (Arizona Daily Star photo)
Spears told the Idaho Statesman the sewn-in University of Idaho logo has since been hastily removed by equipment managers after complaints.
Spears says there was a miscommunication with equipment supplier Nike over the placement of the logo.
"I was disappointed with the look and the appearance," Spears says. "It's changed."
As a result, the Vandal pants will be logo-less when the team's players suit up for their game this Saturday with Idaho State University.

Do you recall seeing any other ODD-placed logos on team uniforms? You think the team’s discomfort affected their play?
Did you ever have to wear some BUTT-ugly shirt as part of a work uniform or other required dress code?

First!
September 6th, 2008 at 12:30 am
I'm sure QB has thoroughly checked out this guy's butt in the name of journalistic research.
September 6th, 2008 at 6:56 am
For the full effect, maybe a bright starburst around the logo? Anyway, it's a matter of placement...perhaps it was intended to be further up near the waist and not quite near the butt hole...funny though. Imagine if the "I" logo was right on the crotch area. And it is getting common to have logos on the butt of shorts.
Trying to think of the tv show or was it a sports telecast, but they had this starburst graphic that would appear sorta randomly right before going to commercial and sometimes the starburst would be right in uncomplimentary areas of the human body...thought that was odd.

Vandalized!
Having an “I” on your butt crack throughout a game would probably make any player self conscious, especially a Vandal’s “I”.What were they thinking, ‘Golden “I” for the Vandal Guy’?
Hooter's come to mind, and also the cocktail waitresses at the Rio in Vegas.

Worst uniforms have got to be Hot Dog on a Stick
September 6th, 2008 at 8:31 am
I'm with Ukuhead. (Well keeping my distance so those critters don't jump from him to me.) Hot Dog on a Stick uniforms are just ridiculous.
A while back on Match Game, Fannie Flagg wore this t-shirt with two eggs sunny-side-up where her boobs were. Funniest thing I saw on TV at the time.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Last night we went to the UH Wahine VB game and my wife won the drawing for the court side seat right behind Coach Shoji and the team. So exciting to be right there hearing the players and the coaches talk. It felt like we were part of the team. We also got free food...
September 6th, 2008 at 10:18 am
.....there's no "I" in "BUTT".....
sometimes i wish i could wear a uniform to work. then no need think of what to wear.
heck...if i had a sponsor....i would put the logo anywhere they wanted me to put em.
better if get choke sponsors so can look like da NASCAR drivers. eh no laugh....i watch NASCAR too.
i like what the construction industry is wearing nowdays. the flourescent green or orange shirts. that's kinda cool.
September 6th, 2008 at 10:56 am
M: Must of been a fun night at the VB game. I've been meaning to take my son there for the longest time. What are the prices like?
September 6th, 2008 at 11:02 am
Hands down, Hot Dog on a Stick! To add insult to injury, they have to wear that uniform AND jump up and down on that lemonade maker thing. It's awesome, I always stop to watch when they start doing that.
September 6th, 2008 at 11:04 am
Hey M, congratulations on winning those seats. I gotta replay my DVR to see if I can see you and Masako. Nah, anonymous is ok.
Can you imagine the Quarterback standing behind the center. "On 3 Hut, Hut what da heck is that on your butt?
Center hikes da ball and quarterback gets sack. Happens again for the next few downs. That's distracting.
Now that the equipment manager RIPPED it off, do you think going get HOLE when it was?
I wear uniform everyday but not those HI-Vis type. I want some though. Maybe I'll buy some company shirts with the NICE logos. Have a great weekend gang.
September 6th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Ynaku: I think there were too many players trying to dot the "I".
September 6th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
M - Hope you folks enjoyed the game! I saw you and Masako on TV! I was wondering how you got those "I have connections" kind of seats - how lucky!! So, if Ynaku watchs the game again...
I dunno about those logos on the butt... it certainly gives them an excuse to play badly! Especially if folks are thinking like Teejay! Yikes! LOL...
September 6th, 2008 at 1:26 pm
An "I" in your butt crack. Its FUNNY already yet I can't add to it.
Wait.........wait.......what if there were an "arrow" in its place pointing downwards? Hahahahahahahahaahahahahaha.......I'm making myself laugh. The coach could use it as a motivational tool "MEN....you may look STUPID, yet we're using this to psyche out the opposing team. When we're in the RED ZONE, bend down away from the other team.....while they're LAUGHING, run the play!
I agree with the "Hot Dog on a Stick" as the STUPIDEST LOOKING UNIFORM AROUND.
OL
September 6th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
The sponsored logo'd shirts that the PBA bowlers wore....yuck!! Even the PGA tour players are beginning to take on that look.
Reminds me of McAvoy's golf shirt in the movie The Tin Cup....logo's all over the place...
September 6th, 2008 at 7:02 pm
TDK: My eyes are bad so I had to strain hard to look... did it all just for you guys. Don't you just love my dedication?
hemajang: Not sure what show you're talking about but that sounds funny. Kinda like the starburst just pops up randomly... What would the point of that be? Let us know if you remember the show!
Teejay: You like or dislike the Hooters and Rio uniforms?
You didn't specify and just gotta double check. Haha! Can't remember off hand what the Rio uniforms were like. Is that the one with the kinda puffy skirt?
September 6th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
Ukuhead: It looks like lots of people agree that Hot Dog on the Stick has the worst uniforms!!
Syxx: Welcome to O&E!!
I don't remember seeing them jump up and down on the lemonade stand... What were they doing that for?
JindoMaster808: Haha! That shirt sounds funny! Kinda reminds me of this one episode of "How I Met Your Mother" where Robin was wearing this shirt with big boobs painted on them and the guys couldn't stop staring.
Ocean Lover (Can't put a "handle" on this one): I knew you'd make a good coach. You always know how to get a leg up (and this time it may have a visually negative effect) on the other guys. Haha!
Ynaku: Yeah, that would be more funny if had a hole left behind. Or if they ripped the logo off too hard might have tiny pricks that could fully rip if stretched the wrong way.
opso: Yeah, uniforms for work would be good but not if you didn't like them. What if the color didn't complement your skin tone? You would be horribly upset! Haha! Kidding. Bet BananaFysh might get a little irked if the color clashed with his yellow peel. Heehee.
anklebiters: Are their shirts that bad? Now I gotta go see what they look like. I usually like the way golfers dress though.
September 6th, 2008 at 7:34 pm
M: Congrats on winning those tickets! What drawing did you score those from? Our office was giving away two sideline seats to tonight's football game. As soon as the e-mail went out with the offer, someone claimed them in like 5 seconds! How did you get the free food??
Ynaku: Yeah, you can't spot M and Masako since we don't have pics of them yet... unless you count that pretty kimono pic of Masako.
snow: But YOU know what M and Masako look like!
I guess it's easy to be on TV if you're sitting right behind the coaches. Gotta make sure you're not digging your nose or something... Shame if not, yeah?
Anyone check out the big Macy's sale today? I got lots of cute outfits - all on sale. Rodney would be so proud!
September 6th, 2008 at 7:50 pm
Halftime for the UH team, thank goodness.
Shauna: Trust me on the Rio outfits, no puffy anything, only tight skimpy spandex. Hot, hot, hot!
September 6th, 2008 at 8:02 pm
Shauna:
Ernie Els wears the SAP logo, Mickelson is plastered with KPMG, Barclays, Calloway and even wears a Rolex watch during the round. Who wears a watch while playing....I don't...the shock of hitting the ball can't be good for it.
Warriors aren't doing too well tonight....I couldn't find the game anywhere on satellite tonight, only ESPN Gameplan. Following the game via Gamecast....losing 17-7. Watched the Sun Devils on a 100-degree night wallop Stanford tonight 41-17..Carpenter's no Brennan, but he passed for 345 yds and 3 TDs. We play UNLV next week and then Georgia the following week...that game should be an indication of how good we are or aren't.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:08 pm
M dropped me off at Macy's this morning and I got 5 blouses 1 skirt and 1 long pants for.....77.43. Not bad at all. I also went to look at the handbags but the one I wanted was not on sale.
Those seats were so cool. The drawing is sponsored by Bank Of Hawaii. We go to the games whenever M's friend gives us tickets. We always enter the drawing and I pray to win and finally last night i heard my name. It was kinda weird at first but it was so nice to sit right behind Dave Shoji. They were smashing the other team so Shoji was really mellow and was actually smiling a lot of the time. During the time outs he was actually laughing with the team.
Bank of Hawaii gave us the food. We had a slice of pizza and a bowl of pasta salad. It was hard to eat because I was afraid the ball would fly at me and I did not want to be eating on camera too. Yeah digging your nose would not have been good.
I want to get those seats again during a game that Shoji is yelling and screaming.
We went to pick up food at Rainbows after. I have that story on BL's blog. I don't think i'll be eating there again for a long time.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
Hey, they have Graunke in...and UH is in the lead...maybe now they will keep him as the starter...the only real chance they have in winning each game.
September 6th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Another TD....way to go Tyler......
September 6th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Another TD !!!!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:26 pm
Officiating in this game is unbearable!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
11 penalties for WS and 9 for UH ... that's a LOT!!
September 6th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Great job WARRIORS (in the second half)!!!! First win for coach Mack and good to see Tyler make a comeback. What a night and no I’s or H’s on the okole!
Hawaii's uniform this year is something I still have to get used to.
September 6th, 2008 at 9:47 pm
They shutdown Higgins in the 2nd half....is our defense that good against the run or did WS have a non-existent running game?
September 6th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
yay warriors! 36-17!
anklebiters and Teejay: Wow, thanks for the game updates since I haven't been following it! Why was the officiating unbearable? So what do you think are chances are for the next game?
Masako: Ooh, sounds like you got a lot of good stuff also! I think I bought nine tops and one dress. Can't wait to wear all those cute outfits!!
And again, that's so lucky you got picked AND they gave you food. But I guess the best part is as a fan, to be near the coach and hear all the excitement. I'm happy for you and M!
OK, I gotta read the story about your Rainbow's food now. Somehow I'm thinking there was a bug in it...
September 6th, 2008 at 11:14 pm
Shauna: Next week is going to be tough at Oregon State. Hopefully they can work on fixing the mistakes this week. They're not last years team and will have to be more disciplined to win but it's doable.
The officials need to work on making the right calls and sticking with them instead of depending on reviewing the tape all the time. I think they reviewed at least five plays. Twice is a lot in a game so five or six is uncalled for.
September 7th, 2008 at 4:21 am
Wow, congrats to M & Masako! I would love to get those seats one day.
Man, we were up in the nosebleeds, but even then, was good cause we could see everything.
I've only been to one volleyball game at the Stanley, last season. Was the one WAC game they LOST! ugh! horrible!
HAHA! oh, opso, I was thinking about "There's no 'I' in BUTT" also, right after I read the story! Great minds, hm?
Hm, what team do you think would be the WORST to have their logo/mascot there? South Carolina Gamecocks? Maybe Dallas Cowboys - the Star marks the "chocolate starfish."
September 7th, 2008 at 10:42 am
Hahaha! Go Warriors! And, we won! Cheeehooo! I'm sooo jealous that my parents are leaving this week to attend the OSU game. But, that means another Tsai-ko TV-gate to go to. Hehe!
September 7th, 2008 at 11:08 am
BF: Maybe you better live on Oahu!
Kelli: What Tsai-ko gathering are you talking about? Sounds like you have fun there!
September 7th, 2008 at 6:40 pm
anyone eating anything good for dinner?
meanwhile, the alphabet game is now on a food theme if anyone wants to play. find the "game" link on the right side of this page and it's the first post on that page...
September 7th, 2008 at 6:57 pm
Going to Gyotaku again for my b-day present to myself. I'll let you know what I have.
September 7th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
I had two hot dogs....relish, onions, ketchup and mustard....didn't feel like cooking
September 7th, 2008 at 7:27 pm
anklebiters: onions!
Teejay: Happy birthday! When was the actual day? I'm so jealous you're going again! I take it you plan to try something different!
September 7th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
i made corned beef sandwich with LOTS of onions mixed in. and kimchi of course.
boy....this google chrome browser is da bomb. it's friggin fast.
that's right......i'll test it out on the alphabet game since that page seems to load a little slower.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
opso:
It's a lean and simple browser...bare minimum features. Since we are partners with them, we've been testing it. Once they start adding current/new features into it, the browser war should be interesting.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
opso, will this google chrome browser work with winxp sp3 too?
September 7th, 2008 at 8:29 pm
anklebiters - yeah....this is perfect for blogging and just browsing your favorites with multiple tabs open. this is all i need. anything for more speed.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
M - i guess so.....i just downloaded xp sp3 recently and it works fine.....so far.
September 7th, 2008 at 8:38 pm
yikes. i didn't read the stories on google chrome. how do you use it and get started?
opso: kim chee WAS good!
just like the kind you get at restaurants!! thanks again!!
September 7th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Queenie - just go to google.com and download it. it's so simple to use. not much stuff on there. and did i mention.....FAST!
it even underlines your misspellings in this comment box. cool
it wasn't too hot for you? now go your fridge and dump your halm's.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:03 pm
opso: can't dump the halm's!! did you try it with soda crackers yet? it probably would also go good with imitation crab. do you think there is another sauce added in there or it's just kim chee and crab?
OK, i'll do the google thing when i have time. isn't that smart logic? too busy to download it so instead i'll suffer with the slower downloads on the current firefox? haha.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Opso: What, you get your foreign exchange students making your kimchee?
September 7th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
huh? you mean adding another sauce along with the kimchi and imitation crab?
and i didn't try kimchi with soda crackers yet. that's ODD!
time? it'll only take you like 5 min. to get up and running. go do um now.....go.
you won't be disappointed.
September 7th, 2008 at 9:31 pm
TJ - no......their mothers.
September 7th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
opso: yeah i think they sell that at don quijote. i was wondering what was in it. you gotta try it with crackers!! OK, maybe tomorrow since i'm almost done work and don't have time! hee hee!
Teejay: have a happy birthday week!
September 7th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
+1 for Chrome!
Been using it the past week, and I love it.
FAAAASTTTT!
I was checking out it's memory "footprint" in task manager, and it's WAAAAY smaller that IE or Firefox. I kinda miss the plug-ins for Firefox, though, like FoxyTunes to control iTunes, the bookmark synchronizer, and PicLens. Supposedly on the way, anklebiters?
Kim chee with soda crackers? for reals? hm, I think we know what Queenie's bringing for pot luck.
Sunday is family dinner night for me. Hm, what had tonight...
Chow fun
veggie stir fry
pig's feet soup
fried chicken
ravioli w/ marinara sauce.
As always, WAY more than required, but we all get fuud for the next couple of days.
September 7th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
Very good grasshopper, err, bumble bee. We actually got to Ala Moana at 10:30 am. Paula wanted to get to the sales that ended at 1:00. Me, I didn't find anything there. But I did buy the khaki colored jeans from Levi's. I actually paid retail - but Paula gave me the green light so it was okay.
As for the Idaho logo on the butt. Seems appropriate. Idaho = I-da-hole.
How about those Juicy Couture shorts with "Juicy Couture" splattered across the back? Anything juicy back there can't be very couture...
September 7th, 2008 at 11:32 pm
@Shauna: Sorry for the late reply! I asked a worker at Hot Dog on a Stick why he was jumping up and down on the bucket and he said, "It's for lemonade. I'm crushing it." I'm assuming he was crushing ice for the lemonade, or maybe the juice and ice together...I didn't stick around to ask, as I was about to burst out laughing at any second.
September 8th, 2008 at 12:03 am
Does Chrome have something like the Adblock and NoScript plugins on Firefox? I couldn't survive without those two.
September 8th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Those Hot Dog on a Stick hats are so ridiculous that they're cool. So cool in fact, you can get Hot Dog on a Stick antenna toppers.
Will there ever be a Mac version of Chrome?
September 8th, 2008 at 11:41 am
Rodney:
It's open source...you could write one
One thing I really like is that each tab is a window running it's own process so you no longer are cursed by a tab 'malfunction' causing adverse affect on the rest of your tabs....think multithreading
Have you tried Maxthon ?
Here's how to enable some of the Chrome features on Firefox:
http://lifehacker.com/5044518/enable-chromes-best-features-in-firefox
September 9th, 2008 at 9:45 am
@anklebiters - Thanks for the lead. I'll take a look at the features.
Maxthon? Never heard if it. Haven't even sampled Opera.
September 9th, 2008 at 7:08 pm
Rodney:
You can get it here: http://www.maxthon.com/
